I mean, I run with the ball and my "blockers" retreat when I do instead of picking up blocks. I know this isn't American football but I know I got 5 points for crossing the end zone (or whatever it's called in rugby). It would be easier if the other players actually blocked so I could run. Is that not allowed or something?

Also, the "kick a field goal/penalty kick" for offsides is crazy. Throw in that crazy kicking angle and this American is stumped.

Try tutorials and practices?

G'day Jaruff, the aim is to run forward toward the try line & the other players don't block but run with you waiting for the pass, you can only pass the ball backwards(as in the guy who receives the ball can't be in fron of you) & if you kick the ball someone on your team(wingers generally) have to run past the point of the ball before you can grab it again. does that make sense??

The aim of the game is to get tries or you can kick it through for a field goal in open play.

I like Dirk and all, but the way people overrate him and ride his balls so much now is just insane.

Looking through different threads, they have him as the best player in the league, the best shooter ever, etc. Come onnnn

I think they need to replace "best" with "unique".

Jaruff,

In rugby, American Football style blocking is illegal. The other players thus run alongside/behind the ball carrier looking for "laterals,"

Dirk is barely the best PF in the league and that's only because his prime is extending beyond KGs. KG in his prime is better than Dirk. Pau is pretty good too, but I do think Dirk edges him out.

Thanks for the Rugby 101 guys. That makes sense.

I should have recorded myself trying to play the game like American football. I'm sure some of you would have got a nice kick out of that.

I just watched the Glen Rice highlights from that All-Star Game back in the 90s from the other thread. It was nice. I remembered him breaking the records, but I had forgotten that he won MVP. When the highlights mentioned that Jordan was close to a triple-double, I was thinking that he was the one that won it. Rice was amazing that portion of the season where he was on fire for months. It was like he scored 30+ every night. It was probably one of the most memorable string of performances in the history of Charlotte professional sports.
