5DOM wrote:Actually lots of Villa fans have said that Downing had a better and much more consistent season than Young last year. He did win the Players' POTY, Fans' POTY and Sponsor's POTY. It obviously doesn't necessarily mean that Downing is/was the more talented player though. As for Young at United, for one thing, his crosses are really helping the team. Last Sunday wasn't his greatest game, but he put some very dangerous balls into the box. Good signing.

My point is/was/always has been that Young is the more talented player. He got a bit too flashy in his last season at Villa Park so he became a bit of a scapegoat. If N'Zogbia plays to his potential then we won't be missing Downing at all, I doubt we're gonna find another Young for a long long time unless we throw money at someone (lol, unlikely).

But yes I understand the pros for Downing, namely that he's a good crosser. So in summation, Villa is ****.

^ You guys got Barry Bannan though. He's looked class the number of times I've seen him against Manchester United's reserve team which is no slouch especially with guys like Morrison and Pogba soon to make the step up. I'm glad he is getting the chance at first team footy this season with Villa.

with wilshere out forever arsenal needs wenger to go **** in the winter market. diego milito is out of favour at inter, van de vaart is falling down redknapps pecking order , gary cahills contract situation. make a late season push and all of those players will be available for the champions league assuming milito is left out of action at inter and assuming he hasnt palyed yet which i dont think he has

I like Bannan, mostly because he plays the game the right way. Very smart passer. It'll take a year of solid playing time for him to mature into a legitimate starter that can perform against the top 6 or so teams of the EPL, but I've been happy with what I've seen thus far.

Newcastle United is doing well. Should have got a win against one of those weak teams they played. Hope Newcastle get another a victory against the Wolves.

Asked if he would be look at Tevez, Redknapp said at a press conference ahead of Thursday's Europa League match against Shamrock Rovers: "We couldn't afford him, no chance."

Nani probably lost more balls this half than he has the entire season.

Aston Agbonlahors with a victory over Wigan...ugh I don't want to watch when we play a legitimate team.

Sturridge scores against his team last year.

And now Lampard. Two games in a row.

Hand ball by VDV on the goal. Would've been his second yellow and he'd be gone right now.
