NBA ALL-TIME TEAM ... LIST YOUR ROSTER
There is a ton of debate on who the GOAT is, who the best SF or PG or C is, etc, etc, etc.
However I'd like to see if there is a general consensus on what the 12 man roster of the NBA ALL-TIME team would look like as I have a feeling there might be.
I will list my NBA ALL-TIME 1st team roster below and would like to see yours and read your comments.
NBA ALL-TIME 1ST TEAM ROSTER
PG: Magic/Kidd
SG: Jordan/Kobe/Robertson (Big O)
SF: Lebron/Bird
PF: Chamberlain/Duncan
C: Shaq/Kareem/Olajuwon

Good list but this is what I wanted to see as your list is debateable ... I don't think most folks would consider Dr. J one of the top 12 players of all time.
Your team is loaded no doubt but you don't have even one prototypical PG on the roster ... the Big O was more a SG/SF combo while West was a pure SG. Magic is the greatest PG of all-time no doubt but without a real backup he'd have a hard time playing 48mins against an fast little PG's.

I actually would love to see a list of the all-time worst team but it wwould have to be of players who played at least 1 full year or something otherwise it would just be filled with 10 day contract guys ... here is a list off the top of my head:
PG: SMUSH (hahaha, not really)
SG: Fennis Dembo
SF: Brian Scalaabrine
PF: David Wood
C: Keith Closs

Someone debrief this guy
Are you serious?
I have Wilt at PF because I would want him to "start" next to Shaq ... if you think Shaq would be the one playing PF to Wilt's C you're the funny one

Wilt was infinitely more athletic than most of the PFs we have in the NBA today and 5x moreso than "the greatest PF of all-time" Tim Duncan. He was also a fantastic passer.
I'll take a Shaq/Wilt frontcourt over any other all day long.
PG Magic/Nash
SG Jordan/Kobe
SF Bird/LeBron/Worthy
PF Malone/Duncan
C Kareem/Wilt/Hakeem
Dude, honestly that team is pretty horrible for an all-time team.
You've got Nash on your team ... that's just not right.
You've got Worthy ... that must be a joke.
You've got Wilt on the bench, and even have Karl Malone starting over not only Wilt but Duncan ... ahhhhh!
I'll take my team 115-95

Most people dont have Erving in the top 12, are you serious?
Oscar was a PG his entire career.
West was a PG/SG combo, but he brought the ball up, initiated the offense and led the team in assists almost every year he played for the Lakers. In fact he was primarily a PG, by todays standards, especially after the acquisition of Goodrich, even had a couple years of 9+ assists. He was also all-defense ever year and averaged a ridiculous amount of steals, he could defend the smaller PGs that would give Magic a problem (not to mention Jordan and Kobe could also)...
I'm sorry, dont mean to sound rude, but you sound like you have no clue what youre talking about

Leaving out the likes of Shaq, Moses, Hakeem because I feel like an idiot sliding down guys who never played at PF to that position. By accuracy of positions, this is what I picture an all-time 12 man roster would resemble the most.
EDIT: oh what the hell

Yes, I am dead serious.
Magic, Oscar, Cousy, Jordan, Kobe, West, Havlicek, Bird, Pettit, Duncan, Russel, Shaq, Kareem, Wilt ... that's already 14 guys and there are still many others such as Moses malone, Elvin hayes, Elgin Baylor, etc that are considered greater than Dr.J. The doctor probably belongs somewhere in the 25-35 range and DEFINITELY not in the top 12!
Oscar was a PG his entire career.
Um, no he was not. I don't know what else to say accept you're wrong. He was a guard-forward and DEFINITELY not a point guard. He was an unbelieveable assist man and the inventor of the point-forward but he was not a PG.
West was a PG/SG combo, but he brought the ball up, initiated the offense and led the team in assists almost every year he played for the Lakers. In fact he was primarily a PG, by todays standards, especially after the acquisition of Goodrich, even had a couple years of 9+ assists.
The first time West ever went above 7.5 assists was when he was 32 years old ... he averaged around 5 assists his first 5 years in the league ... I think most folks would consider West a SG but you make good points.
He was also all-defense ever year and averaged a ridiculous amount of steals, he could defend the smaller PGs that would give Magic a problem (not to mention Jordan and Kobe could also)...
Very true ... but Jordan and Kobe aren't running the point on offense you know

I'm sorry, dont mean to sound rude, but you sound like you have no clue what youre talking about
See above ... we simply look at this a bit differently. I'm confident that most NBA historians would consider Oscar a G/F combo and most definitely not a PG and West a SG, but you made good points.
However, in regards to the Dr.J. thing ... you are the one who looks like you have no clue what you're talking about ... it is absolutely laughable to think Dr.J. was one of the top 12 players in NBA history ... 25-35 range is about right and maybe even being generous. That said, Julius wouldn't even make the 12 man roster on the NBA'S ALL-TIME 2ND TEAM

Woooo, interesting!
I definitely believe that Lebron right now is better than Bird ever was but he would not be considered "greater" as he's never won anything yet. I also think Durant will retire in the top 3 all-time in scoring, maybe even #1 but he hasn't done anything od real substance yet in the league and still plays no defense which is why I wouldn't put him on this team ... yet

KG and Barkley but no Duncan? Wow. I like it as I've never liked Duncan but he is worthy of any praise he gets no doubt.
Dwight? I love Dwight and think he is incredibly under-rated and under-valued but to put him ahead of Wilt Chamberlain ... not yet

Cool picks though!

I've seen plenty of all-time lists with Dr J in the top 12. Definitely top 15. He's easily better than Hayes, Baylor, Cousy and Havlicek. Julius was an MVP caliber player, these guys were not (well Cousy did win 1 MVP but he also never shot over 40% from the field). He is on the level of a Moses or Pettit, but I'd say prime Erving was better. He led crappy teams to ABA multiple ABA titles when the talent pool between the NBA/ABA was split

Is that why he made every All-NBA team of his career as a Guard? Is that why he started every All-Star game of his career at Guard? Every year after 64 he started the all star game at PG. You may be able to debate whether or not he was a PG or SG, but he was definitely not a Forward. And again, he brought the ball up and initiated the offense every possession. He was very ball dominant and lead the league in assists 7 times...
Very true ... but Jordan and Kobe aren't running the point on offense you know
uhm.. have West/Kobe/Jordan guard PG/SG and have Magic guard SF.....

Again, look at ESPN top lists, Sports Illustrated, RealGM, SLAM.. Dr J is usually top 12.. You are actually, no joke, the first person I've ever seen say Dr J is 25-35 all time player...

I would put my money on this twelve any night against any mixure.

Absolutely no question. Outside of Kareem, and Bill Walton for one season, he was the best player in the 70s, hands down. Frankly, I don't think I've ever seen him ranked lower than 15th. As low as the 20s and 30s is sheer lunacy.
For me he's in that Oscar/Moses/West tier outside of the top 10. I'd take him at around 12 or 13. Lots would agree with that.
On point about Oscar, too. The original power guard. And it's the same thing with Duncan -- they want to call him a PF, but it it looks like a center, and plays like a center, it's probably a center.
Same with O as a point guard. He might have moved around a bit, especially in an era where they didn't have fixed definitions like we do. But he was clearly an elite ball-handler/distributor/playmaker. Sounds like a point guard to me.
