Jordy signs an extension

Post#1 » by chuckleslove » Mon Oct 3, 2011 2:58 am

Breaking:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_ ... t-new-deal

The deal is worth up to $13.35 million over three years, a bit more than the $9.4 million deal the Packers gave receiver James Jones this summer, and provides further indication that Nelson is slowly transitioning into the Packers’ No. 2 receiver role.

Rodgers is going to have the greatest WR arsenal in the league, for the foreseeable future.

Pretty fair to say that this is it for Donald? "Get ur records, prolly join the staff if you don't to tv and let Cobb step in the slot...."

Sounds right to me.

Driver can play another year or two if he wants. It's up to him if he'll be ok with a limited roll. Love to keep him around if he'll go for it.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Next up is either Finley or Wells, then we have to start looking at new deals for Rodgers, Clay, Raji and Jennings too.

If Sherrod pans out then Clifton will be a casualty of needing money and I think Drive will either have to restructure his deal to be more team friendly or he could be a casualty too.

Cliffy will be gone regardless of Sherrod because of Bulaga and Newhouse.

Agreed. both Drive & Clifs last season w/ Pack. Hopefully we win SB again & they decide to retire. Chad may. Driver plays on.

Sherrod & Newhouse compete for LT. IF both marginall Bulaga moves Left & Newhouse plays Right. But I don't see that as becoming neccessary as I expect big jump by both Sherrod & Newhouse on Left.

This is an incredible deal. I would have expected him to get more than that on the open market.

Jordy has turned into a very good no. 2 WR.
