Scariest thing about this is if BC plays his cards right...this could be a reality.

Yeah if your moving DeRozan. There is no way Miller slips past #10 at worst I think he's easily a top 5 pick

LOL I know....that's why it's a "dream" draft BUT (flame away) IF Miller still looked a lot like Durant in college I would trade Derozan in a heartbeat.

So would I do that trade asap. Only real problem is we would have a gaping hole at the 2 if we did get Miller and Drummond. Sets us up pretty nice for 2013's draft for Shabazz Mohammad can you imagine a starting 5 of Bayless/Mohammad/Miller/Drummond/Jonas V that is :droop: worthy. I don't think any team wants to potentially set that up plus let Toronto have cap room to sign a PG

LMAO that is BEYOND a dream....that would be nothing short of a true team miracle and almost ZERO percent chance of happening considering both Drummond and Shabazz are likely #1 picks. I'm with you on that being the sweetest dream as a Rap fan but that scenario just doesn't seem even remotely possible.

LOL I agree still. It all comes down to Miller and what kind of season he has at Baylor.

Truthfully I was kinda hoping a package centered around Ed + 2013 pick of some kind would be enough to get teams to bite if Miller slips far enough (if at all) but that seems very unlikely. I think he's a lock for a top 5 pick. What about Gilchrist though? I think he could be a solid piece...a better Iguodala and we could always use a good perimeter defender who can score, pass, solid in transition etc. Granted I don't think he's as good as say Miller or Barnes but I think he has a chance to be something special...again that's going to come down to his season this year. BUT I would say that if we could leave the draft with a Drummond and Gilchrist, we did VERY well.

I still think harrison barnes is the best option for the raps.

He is going to be the total package small forward. Perhaps not the offensive dynamo potential of a miller but very strong at both sides of the court

He would be very very solid too. But if we have a high enough pick, it'd be hard to pass on Drummond.
Random thought but I think if Jones III slides, him and Barnes would also be a very good draft day.

while it's nice to hope for Drummond, it's not very realistic that we'll land him regardless of where in the rankings our team is--I don't think any team is going to pass him up at #1.

I'm not sure. I think the ridiculously scary potential of a frontcourt with Griffin/Drummond would be too much to pass up. At his size, Drummond can handle playing the 5 and he's a solid defender (not the one-man zone that Dwight is, but he's not Bargs/Amare either). On offense they would be a nightmare for any team to handle with their combination of freak athleticism and explosiveness, ability to faceup and postup, and solid passing and BBIQ.

I wouldn't and I was against taking Jonas in the draft, but everything I've heard and seen makes me think we made the best choice possible. Jonas could end up being the best player in the draft.

I dunno man. Truthfully I couldn't see it working. You don't often see or hear of a team with two HUGE offensive threats down low. I can't think of any off the top of my head. Also, I've noticed that teams that win chips generally have one super offense down low, another super offense on the wing and the 5 spot is almost always held by a very solid defender. (2011 - Dallas, 2009 & 2010 - Lakers, 2008 - Boston, 2007 - Spurs, 2006 - Heat etc.) That seems to be a key part of the formula for winning a chip.

All that's not to say they won't take Drummond but they do already have to throw some money at Jordan to keep him on board this year and I just don't see how it would make sense for them to take Drummond (assuming they do keep Jordan). In my opinion, Barnes would be the best fit on the board for that team.

As for us, we should definitely be looking to grab Drummong but unless a LOT of luck comes our way (Drummond slides, Clippers pass, we get a No. 1 or 2 pick), we probably won't get him. BUT I think as long as we land in...I'd say the top 4, Miller is a guarantee. Which is fine because he's gonna be a great player. I would also want to move Ed or something for another offensive piece down low (Jones III, Sullinger etc because hopefully Bargs would be gone by now) but I doubt Ed is enough value to net us either one.

Only for Drummond I would. Other then that there isn't anybody who has his defensive potential and offsensive potential mixed into one package. We could be see a mini Andew Bogut on our teams in terms of a great all around C. Toronto looks like it's a team going to be in the top 5 ourselves so we might have a shot at Barnes/Miller at the wing or if we do get lucky and win the lotto and pick up Drummond with our pick I would look to hopefully dump Ed + a 2013 top 5 protected pick for a top 10 pick if there are one of the elite SF's on there. Then rebuild with

SF: Barnes or Miller/James Johnson
PF: Drummond/Amir Johnson
C: Jonas V/Bargnani

That would be a fantastic front court unrealistic but it has a small chance of happening.
