Board suggestion: X's & O's or coaching forum

Post#1 » by john2jer » Fri Oct 7, 2011 4:03 pm

I know RealGM caters more towards the business side of basketball, but I think it would be great if we had a forum dedicated towards X's and O's, coaching, systems, articles on style of basketball, discussion on drills, plays, and types of offenses and defenses could be discussed.

I know I personally would probably be obsessed with that forum, as I'm sure anyone else who coaches at any level, or anyone who is just interested in player improvement, style of play, or different types of systems.

In the past we've seen threads pop up in different forums with discussions on SSOL, the Triange, Corner offense, etc... Would be awesome if we had a one stop shop for those kind of conversations. Maybe would help all of us understand a little more about the game of basketball.

If there ever is a forum this guy should be a mod

viewtopic.php?t=1076050

He did this for every Raptors game last year. He actually watched every single game and play and did a breakdown of the results defensively.

He also does coaching breakdowns on his blog

I count 4 votes. :-)

I'm entering my 13th year of coaching traveling/AAU/high school basketball. New job this season, tryouts end tonight. A place to talk coaching, systems, x's and o's, etc with would be awesome.

I make excellent suggestions. And be honest, you're a huge fan of when I go off on coaching topics. PS: One of my players will be playing for Mankato. Well, a bunch of them are playing for Mankato, but mostly football, one is playing basketball. High school season starts in 6 days!

I get called John all the time, I don't even really notice anymore. I like to pretend John was the alley to me freaking the oop.

Hey, a coaching forum would direct my attention away from the General Board and the Trade Forum.
