Bears @ Lions Monday Night Football

Post#1 » by The Explorer » Fri Oct 7, 2011 2:31 pm

Come on, where is the activity on this board? Where is the moderator?

This is a huge game, that could make or break the season. If Bears lose they will be 0-2 in the division and 3 games behind the undefeated Lions. If they win, they put out the fire of the Lions and their hype, and can go 4-2 if they win the following week against Minnesota.

I don't feel too good about their chances, but their Bears actually have been pretty good on MNF.

Who you got?

The moderator hasn't posted here in years. We need to come out and try to run the ball this game to be successful. If Cutler and the o-line can get comfortable running and doing play action I think we'll have some time to take some deep shots. I have no solution for Calvin. It would help if Harris was available to play but I think it'll be a close game. We need to control the clock to be successful.

Make me moderator. I'll pimp this board out!

As for the game, it's essential we stop the run. I have no explanation for the huge drop off in our run defense from last season. We actually brought in more depth and have gotten significantly worse.
If we stop the run we have a chance. If not, we get picked apart.

On offense, we need to get a balanced attack going. PLEASE don't try to run Forte between the tackles. Sweeps & screens can keep their D-Line off balance.

I personally think the Lions are overrated as they've played weak teams (Bucs-overrated) Vikes, Browns, Cowboys) and have had to rally in 3 of four games. That said, I don't feel great about this one.

Stopping the run is good, but will not be enough. If Major Wrong and Meriweather are starting, (likely) then I don't have much confidence in them stopping the big downfield throws. Both of them have made too many mistakes.

And Frank Omiyale starting at RT is a big cause for concern. He just got benched, how is he supposed to handle Cliff Avril?

The Bears will need plenty of help from special teams and turnovers again if they are to win this game.

I agree with Charity Stripe on Meriweather and Wright. They are never in the right place. Harris seems to always be in the right place at the right time to keep big plays from happening and is good at tackling in the open field in case somebody breaks loose. It'll be a tough game on offense for us though. Clutts has really surprised me with his lead blocking skills so I wouldn't be surprised if Forte breaks one big run being Clutts.

This should be a loss but I could see us winning. We seem to step up on MNF.

The Lions have been bailed out by their opponents the last two weeks. If the Bears do the same.... Idk... I won't be able to watch them play for a couple weeks.

Go Bears!!!!

We tend to step up & win games that everyone expects us to lose. Like others have said, we need Chris Harris back ASAP.

Awesome! I think our defensive line will finally expose the Lions' offensive line.

Did everyone fall asleep? Cutler and Forte have been good. Everyone else? Terrible.

Should've kicked the FG first instead of wasting the clock going for the TD!!!

I think i have a solution to the bears woes....contact the head management or Lovie Smith and tell them what you think should happen with the offensive line. :)
