Really?! I just did a top 10 search and Tyson was on every single list but one and if it went to 15 my guess is he'd have been on it. I'm guessing all lists weren't by "purists" so they don’t count.
Tyson holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF world heavyweight titles, he was 20 years, 4 months and 22 days old. Tyson won his first 19 professional bouts by knockout. He won the WBC title in 1986. In 1987, Tyson won the WBA and IBF titles and was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold and only Heavyweight to individually unify the WBA, WBC and IBF titles. Tyson successfully defended the world heavyweight championship nine times. He was undefeated in his first 5 years of boxing.
That sure sounds like an overrated media creation to me.

My guess is you were in diapers when Tyson was doing these things and have no idea what you are talking about. Like Newz and I said...once his trainer died he started to go off the deep end and that is the media cartoon you are familiar with.

People may remember Favre the "douche" and Favre the "choke artist", but that is not who he was in the mid-90's. Favre was a dominant offensive player beyond the norm.
There were plenty of HOF offensive talents during Favre's MVP years. He shared the MVP with a player in Sanders that is the best runner in the history of the sport, IMO. There wasn't a more dangerous player in the NFL than Favre from (at least) 1995-97. It doesn't matter what happened in other seasons.
Agreed, but I'm not sure who this is directed at because as far as I can see nobody here has said Favre wasn't amazing in the 90s or wasn't a dominant offensive player. Heck, I can't stand the guy but still called him a top 10 QB ever.
