I honestly can't tell if you're serious or not. If you are, you will be out $2200 American dollars.

Who would have thought at Detroit/San Francisco would be the game of the week?
Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed.

Re: NFL Week 6 Thread
If I were to bet a big dog this week I would take Miami coming off a bye with a new QB against a Jets offense that cannot score. Should be a 16-14 or even 17-10 kind of game.
Who would ever have thought that the best game on the slate in Week 6 is 4-1 San Francisco at 5-0 Detroit? You could have put $10K down on those teams having those records and bookies would have walked away laughing at you.

Raiders will honor Davis on Sunday
The Oakland Raiders will honor Hall of Fame owner Al Davis at their first home game since his death last weekend.
Raiders CEO Amy Trask said Tuesday that the team will "honor and pay tribute" to Davis throughout Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. There are no specific details about what is planned.
Davis died Saturday at age 82. He had been part of the organization for all but three of the team's 52 seasons as either coach, general manager or owner. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/f ... &eref=sihp

Jets trade Derrick Mason to the Texans. They just added a douchebag to their team... he's such a diva.

the steelers just manhandled a much better titans team at home by 3 td's, why do you think they couldnt decimate the jaguars and their rookie qb by more?

That's what I don't understand. The Steelers definitely haven't been playing up to their potential this season, but their defense is still stout. If MoJo doesn't score, then no one will.

Re: NFL Week 6 Thread
My early surprise picks are SF and NYG to win outright. I was actually surprised that the Giants are favorites but it sort of reinforces my thought that they will win.
I like Carolina +5.5. I think Newton keeps them close and Atlanta will not run up points with that OL and with Jones out. Probably not picking them to win it, but I like it to be a FG game.

When i look at the odds for all the games there is always a game that stands out to me. The Bills-Pats was one, then Tampa-Colts, then Seahawks-Giants and now jags-steelers. I placed a 1'000 swiss francs (1200$) bet on the jags this morning. The jags were +12.

That's the difference between having a QB and not having one. I took some crap from some Cleveland people on that one, including some in my immediate family, but Colt McCoy just doesn't have an NFL arm.
On the flip side, Rodgers is almost certain to match Steve Young's record of 11 games with a QB rating over 110 in a season. Manning had one season with 9, two others with 8 (and 5 with 7). Brees has one season with 8, Brady has 2, Montana has one, Culpepper has one, Warner has one. That's it. To put it in perspective, Troy Aikman had just 12 career games where he topped 110. Favre never had a season with more than 5--and that was his good Minny year.
consider the inefficiency of the Cleveland passing offense. Only the Saints throw the ball more per game than the Browns, with Colt McCoy averaging 43 attempts per game. Yet the Browns rank 17th in passing yards per game, and McCoy's 5.7 yards per attempt beats only Sam Bradford this year. If you go back to the start of the 2008 season, that figure would top only Jimmy Clausen last year, JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn in 2009, and Ryan Fitzpatrick subbing for Carson Palmer in 2008 for quarterbacks that started at least 10 games in a season. Three of those four guys are unlikely to ever take another NFL snap, and all of those teams lost at least 10 games. What makes it worse for McCoy? He is on pace to be sacked just 24 times, or on 3.6% of his attempts. All those other QBs were sacked on at least 6.9% of their attempts, with Bradford sacked an absurdly high 10.7% of his attempts. McCoy simply cannot throw the ball down the field, even with decent protection and a solid running game to ease pressure.
and
Even if they get to Aaron Rodgers repeatedly and a healthy Steven Jackson pounds out around 115 yards rushing, this Rams team will be lucky to cover the 14.5 point spread. They have seven corners either on IR or out for this game and will try to have the kneeless skeleton of Al Harris play every snap. Rodgers has picked apart far better secondaries than this one. The only real worry is if Rodgers gets bored, but I think he would like to keep the amazing streak of consecutive games with a QB rating over 110 (currently at 5) going on. In fact, if you go back to last year and include the playoffs, Rodgers has topped 110 in 13 of his 16 games. To put it in perspective, in Dan Marino's superlative 1984 season he topped 110 just 7 times and never more than twice in a row
