For a young league the talent level is getting better and better each year. I'm just happy more people are at least giving it a chance, some games are surprisingly really good.

Brek Shea reminds me a lot of Torres. He could surely play in Europe.

So where does everyone think David Beckham will end up after the season?

Stay in LA? Paris Saint-Germain? QPR?

Lots of rumours out there.

Im hearing PSG a lot for Beckham. I'd actually be thrilled to have him stay in MLS. He's been an great sport in his time here and i have lots of respect for him because of that. We'll see how this plays off.

TONIGHT on ESPN2/ESPN3/ESPNDeportes

Colorado Rapids vs Real Salt Lake

RSL trying to clinch the 3rd seed in the MLS Playoffs vs their rival east of the Rocky Mountains. This will be the second leg of the Rocky Mountain Cup. RSL won the first leg 1-0 early in the season with a controversial last minute goal. If you dont watch MLS, i highly recommend watching this one, they are always exciting games.

In the last three games these guys have played, RSL has scored 4 goals in injury time. Last year in the first leg at Rio Tinto Stadium in SLC, Colorado had held a 1-0 lead for most of the second half only to have Nat Borchers tie it up in the 93' minute. Second leg came and Colorado gave themselves a nice 2-0 lead late in the game. Then this happened....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MubwSf9ZUVw#t=03m40s

2-2 helped RSL keep the RMC for the 4th straight year. Tonights game should be another fun one. starts at 10:30 EST.

I was really hoping for a Portland win, I would much rather see them makes the playoffs over Houston.

As for the RSL game, one point for both teams didn't really help at all.

MLS releases details of Montreal expansion draft

Head coach Jesse Marsch and the 2012 expansion Montreal Impact have signed two players to date: defender Nelson Rivas and midfielder Hassoun Camara. On Wednesday, they learned when they'll be able to get some teammates, as MLS announced the date and details of the 2012 MLS Expansion Draft.

The draft will take place on Wednesday, November 23, beginning at 2 pm ET.

As in past years, the expansion draft will last 10 rounds, meaning the Impact will select 10 players.

Current MLS clubs will be allowed to protect 11 players from their 2011 roster, though there are several categories of players who have special status. Generation adidas players and Homegrown Players on the team’s Off-budget Roster are automatically protected, without counting as one of the team’s 11 protected spots.

Designated Players do not have to be protected unless the player’s contract includes a no-trade clause.

Clubs must submit their protected roster to MLS on Monday, November 21.

Congratulations to New York for taking the final playoff spot.

Having New York in the playoffs is good for the league, even if it's only one game.

2012 MLS SuperDraft set for Jan. 12 in Kansas City

A new-look MLS SuperDraft will have a new home for 2012, as the league announced on Friday that the annual event is scheduled to shift to Kansas City

The 2012 SuperDraft is set for Thursday, Jan. 12 at the Kansas City Convention Center and will be held in conjunction with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention for the eighth straight year.

For the 2012 version, the SuperDraft will be reduced from three rounds to two, making for 38 overall selections. The first round will be broadcast live on ESPN2 starting at 12 noon ET.

As in past expansion seasons, newcomers Montreal Impact will be selecting first overall. The following eight picks are currently held by clubs that did not qualify for the 2011 postseason, in reverse order of regular season finish. The remaining 10 picks will be determined by the order in which teams are eliminated in the playoffs combined with reverse order of regular season finish.

A four-round Supplemental Draft will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Both events are set to follow the 2012 adidas MLS Player Combine, which will again be held in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

You guys think FOX getting the TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups hurts the MLS? ESPN has done a fantastic job pushing the sport in the United States in general and the MLS specifically. But it seemed like they just did that to generate increased interest for the World Cup, and it worked. Since they won't have them past 2014, could ESPN simply put MLS even more on the backburner? NBC can fit with this too since they were bidding on the World Cups and I don't see MLS killing ratings for a network that cancels everything that doesn't get 10.6's

Holy ****, i didnt know FOX won the rights to those WC. FOX has been awful with soccer and i was sooo glad that MLS was leaving them for NBCSports. Dammit....well they have a lot of time to fix themselves.

I think it hurts MLS likely with promotion. It's always good to have MLS commercials on during the World Cup.

In the long run though I think after the bid NBC made for MLS they won't just put the league on a back burner. I think NBC has a long term goal with soccer, and although losing the WC bid likely hurts their short term goals it will likely pay off in the end with having MLS coverage every season.

The World Cup always gives a bump to the popularity of MLS, and that likely won't change no matter what network it is on.

It depends more on how well the USA does.
