Once again, it's that time of the year when it's actually better (less worser?) to be a Wiz fan than it is to be a Caps fan.

Incredibly soft team, built by a GM who likes soft players. It's not pure coincidence that McPhee's teams completely suck in the playoffs.

The Lakers Mavericks series reminded me alot of the Caps Lightning series. Two teams that just should of done better.

havn't been impressed with any of their games so far. 2 went to a shootout. im not getting hyped until they make it to the ecf at the very least. they still seem soft to me and alex ovechkin looks worse than ever. he prob will have another sub-par season and his career is already looking like its on the decline.

Well, they're not very flashy this year. Smarter hockey commentators than I are saying that they are a grittier team now.

Like some goals are scored by skill -- you make a good pass to get the goalie out of position and then make a good shot. Others goals are by accident -- you hang out in front of the net and the puck bounces in off your shin. So apparently most of their goals this year have been the latter variety.

yeah. a win is a win though i guess. we'll see how the season goes. but its hard for me to get excited anymore.

My only guess then ST21, is that you're not that big of a hockey fan. I enjoy watching a Caps game whether it's October or the playoffs. It's great hockey and great entertainment In fact, I probably **enjoy** the regular season more because my stomach isn't in knots. Do I want them to win the cup? Sure! BUt if they never do I'll hardly regard my time spent watching the team (and being entertained) as a waste.

yeah im a front runner when it comes to the caps i wont deny that. I mean how many kids in the dc area grow up on hockey? not many. i jumped on the wagon when they got good a few years ago and made that late season run to make the playoffs. i did consider myself a huge hockey fan and caps fan for like 2 years while i followed them religiously. but after last seasons 3rd consecutive playoff collapse it really killed my passion for the caps and the sport.

i've always been a die hard bullets/wizards fan though and same with the redskins so i don't care how bad they are.

So Ovie gets a totally unjustified 3 game suspension because the NHL commissioner hates him and the Caps. Ovie sticks it to the league -- screw you, I'm not going to the all-star game then. League says, screw you then, I'm replacing your spot in the all-star game with a PENGUINS PLAYER!!!!

Holtby is absolutely amazing. Brings me back to Varlamov in the playoffs a few years ago -- just better.

The Bruins absolutely dominated possession and shots on goal and we still won, even without Backstrom (which was a BS ruling by Shanahan).

What a win!
