zaveck was gonna win. victor conte or not, berto was getting gassed around the same time that he usually does, round 4. same ole berto. all sound and fury signifying nothing. sucks that he has another belt though.
also, that swelling was caused by a butt.

randall bailey's berto's mandatory. bailey's old now but he can still crack. i'll go out on a limb and say that, should they ever meet (which i doubt), berto will get his block knocked off. just look at how he defends against overhand rights. you cant use that crab defense vs an overhand right. bailey connects and it's lights out for berto.

Bereto was definitely gonna lose this fight... Sucks it ended the way it did, just when Zavec was gonna put in in another gear... Oh well...

Vitali Klitschko/Tomasz Adamek in the afternoon followed by Yuriorkis Gamboa/Daniel Ponce De Leon at night. Both fights on HBO. Klitschko and Gamboa are heavy favorites and I'd certainly agree with that. Gamboa has too much hand speed for PDL. Won't be like PDL's fight with Juanma but I think Gamboa can take him out in the middle rounds. I expect Vitali to score a KO here, Adamek can move but he's way too small.

God Bless Adamek... I want him to win but he doesn't have a chance. I love him to death but the guy is facing a mountain of a man.

I expect Gamoba to knockout Ponce DeLeon. Was too fast for the slow as **** Ponce DeLeon who doesn't have the pop he used to be once be has tried to become a boxer now. He was a slugger.. and now doesn't have that one punch knockout power.

Gamboa does have a tendency to play around with his opponent for the whole fight but hopefully that has changed. I like that Gamboa came out in destroy mode in his last fight and finished it early, which he should have done. That's what we want to see from him. He has a lot of talent and when he's on, one of the most exciting fighters to watch.

Adamek falls on his shield...hey at least people respect him so much more than Haye, who didn't even show up to the battlefield.

mikey garcia beats yuri gamboa. that's all.

ponce de leon could quite possibly be the slowest bantamweight i have ever seen.
klit vs adamek? meh. adamek should fight someone his own size. hopefully a heavy tourney pops off...well, a heavy tourney featuring "normal" sized heavies.

I think Gamboa plays to the level of his opponet way too often. He could have blown Ponce DeLeon any time he wanted.

Anyways... I have to respect DeLeon for this KO because as slow as he is... he could do this to you if he times you. Sad fact is that he has become more of a boxer and that has taken away his one punch power.

Start at 6:35

Adamek really didn't have a chance. You look at the size difference and there was no way that Adamek could have won 6 rounds much less 1 round given Vitali pedigree and size.

I don't really care for any of the heavyweights. I stick with the skinny guys... they fight til they are burger.

i never thought of ponce de leon as a 1 punch knockout guy. he threw long, wide shots and they were more thudding than sharp and powerful. that was a great knockout, but that was also a timing shot. his opponent had all his momentum going forward throwing his own punch so that doubled the power.

i dont really care for the heavies but there are some good fights to be made b/t the guys i mentioned in this post:

Mayweather vs Ortiz... but there is a thread for that...

Mayweather with a late KO... which kinda reflects that he isn't as good as he used to be. Ortiz is way to crude to even bother Mayweather.

Haven't been on this site in a bit but I did catch Martinez/Barker back on the first. It wasn't Maravilla at his best for sure, even got his nose busted up. Barker fought well but Martinez started to break through the guard by the latter rounds of the fight. There is a lot of talk out of Team Martinez that he's possibly in line for a major fight in the spring of '12, either Floyd or Pac? I highly doubt he'd go up to fight Hopkins at like 170 but I can't see either one of Mayweather/Pacquaio fighting him above 150. We'll see what's in store for him next year but the man deserves to be in a big fight, it's too bad that MW isn't a good division at all.

**** I totally forgot to mention that here... I will say what I said on BHL....

I will call it what it really is… This is the most significant event that has happened this year. Hershman is a down to the bone… He is a boxing guy. I don’t want a guy who kisses ass to promoters. We have seen him get down and dirty in fight camp 360 with various promoters and will not let anyone walk over him. He given us countless FOTY type fights with a budget that is 1/3 of HBOs. Honestly he is a people person… I am more than sure he is willing to talk and listen to ppl like us than Greenburg.
