Typical height for each position
What do you think?
Here's mine:
PG: 6'0 (Chris Paul) - (Deron Williams) - 6'4 (Jason Kidd)
SG: 6'3 (Eric Gordon) - (Ray Allen) - 6'7 (Reggie Miller) If you're 6'8 (Stephen Jackson, Tracy McGrady), you're probably an SF playing SG for rotational purposes
SF: 6'6 (Andre Iguodala) - (Danny Granger) - 6'10 (Hedo Turkoglu) If you're 6'11 (Kevin Durant), you're probably really mobile for your size and/or can shoot well
PF: 6'8 (Brandon Bass) - (Amar'e Stoudemire) - 7'0 (Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Garnett)
C: 6'10+ (Dwight Howard) (Shaquille O'Neal) (Kareem Abdul - Jabbar) If you're 6'9, you're either playing out of position (J.J. Hickson, Al Jefferson) or really good at anchoring a defense (Ben Wallace)
Obviously there are some exceptions (such as Magic, Barkley, and Bogues), hence why I said "typical".

I agree with this except 6'2" for PG. Brandon Jennings is 6'1" i believe and some scouts thought he was undersized even after he was measured at 6'1".

I don't think Jennings was ever officially measured. Maybe it's just me, but he looks a little shorter than 6'1" to me.

I would agree except 6'10" (and under) is short for C.

Maybe this is what the OP was going for. I honestly didn't get it at first.

There's no way Jennings is 6'1, he was never measured because he never went to the combine. He is shorter than Chris Paul in the games, 5'11 would be pretty generous here.

The thread is typical. I bet you can't name 5 seven-foot centers. Bynum, Pau, Tyson Chandler? Don't tell me you are going to count everyone above 6'10½ as a 7-footer.

Bynum, Pau Gasol, Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol, Hasheem Thabeet, Brandon Haywood, Greg oden, Omer Asik, Javalee Mcgee, Darko.
I can probably name about 15-20 if i dig deep.

Re: Typical height for each position
^ Those are barefoot heights, while just about everyone uses height in shoes as they play that way. (Then again, just see the thread a week or so ago about if people here like that.) Jason Smith would still come off that list.
As for average measurements, dx has a nice database table:
Rounded slightly, and only for 1st round picks:
PG: 6'1"
SG: 6'4"
SF: 6'6.5"
PF: 6'8"
C: 6'11"
(Off course, that is barefoot. You could add an inch.)
