Eddy Curry

Post#1 » by RJM » Mon Oct 10, 2011 4:16 pm

We have yet to see him in action at all this summer, but with all of these reports about there possibly being interest on Miami's end, could it be that Eddy is laying low at the request of some of the HEAT brass in order to keep his stock low that only they may have him? What is the likelihood of this?

part of me tells me that the only thing Riley would really tell him to do is lose the weight, there's already so much negative views on the guy league-wide that I don't think him going from incredibly overweight to just overweight will change his demand or stock drastically. Also, why wouldn't Curry and his agent pursue other interests from teams if he really is fit to play, wouldn't he at least want the option to have a bigger offer and if he's set on the Heat then he would come play here anyways?

Read earlier today that Curry didn't participate in the recent FIU charity guy on the advice of Tim Grover, who said that these types of games don't cater to big men.

If he's really stuck by Grover, and he's really shed a ton of weight, I'm all for seeing what he can do. I love Joel, but we need something better at center.

Here is why I can't stand the Curry rumors, and don't think he'll be able to help us even when healthy. Even at his absolute best, he was a TERRIBLE rebounder, and a TERRIBLE defender. The only thing he ever did well was score down low, and he was still a turnover machine anyways, meaning he wasn't as efficient as his percentages would have you think.

In other words, he really gives us almost nothing we actually need from the center position. And that's in a BEST case scenario.

**** Curry.

I dont feel that way....
Big Z, Dampier, big Cat, Anthony -(Big Cat, Dampier, Big Z) + Pittman+ Curry= better 3 big man rotation since Shaq, Zo, Latiener. ***I didnt say as good as them*** But BETTER

Plus he gives us room for 2 more player

This is mostly true but in all fairness, in terms of upgrading from what we had with what we can... i'd still say Curry being in shape while considering we all know he will only REALLY get playing time if his head is in the game on D on this team (one of the silver linings of the Heat being his possible destination imo), is probably a more productive player than Juwan, Z, Magloire, Damp or Pittman. So it wouldn't be a complete loss? lol

After all these rumors of weight loss and him being in good shape, I can't believe there is yet to be any pictures of him. Do they have this guy locked in a basement somewhere?!

I need to start lowering my expectations. Every time I read Curry-related news it gets my hopes up.

Tim Grover has him that Iron Man Basement with JArvis and Robert Downey Jr. We arent going to see him till the lockout is lifted. Then he gonna change his name to Tony Starks.

Im looking forward for all the curry hate and jokes when he signs with the heat.

Then the silence when he is actually in shape and contributing on our road to the championship.

Yeah, this is all a big smoke screen. No reason for Curry to hide being in shape if he wants to play next season. Even if he wants to play only for the Heat, there's nothing to stop him from showing up in public. If the Heat were that scared of someone paying him more, wouldn't that be good for Curry who is only getting back into this for financial reasons? I mean...why is he intentionally sabotaging his money? It makes no sense at all. Eddy Curry isn't ready yet. Simple as that IMO. PEACE.

I know I don't hate Curry and have followed him from his senior year in High School. IF he is in shape, he can score but he doesn't play defense and he is a below average rebounder. He is a fun loving but intellectually slow and mostly enjoys video games. His concentration wanes but he now has some motivation so he could possibly be in shape. Curry has been around a long time and fans in both NY and Chicago have seen what he is. Ask NY fans how they thought people in Chicago didn't treat him well and how he had changed. And how they also came around to the Chicago fans viewpoint. People can change but Eddy has a long history of consistent behavior.. he seems to be what he is.

In the high school playoffs Eddy was much taller and larger than anyone on the all white Shaumburg team and yet Eddy did not dominate. He just doesn't have the mean competitive streak in him. He is just a nice guy.

Aha I lol'd, funny thing is right when he was gonna go to the games,at the last minute he decided not to go because "it wasn't his game".It's like he's some type of top secret experiment,no one has any pics of him.

I think he initially progressed, but has now plateaued or regressed, and they just don't want to admit defeat quite yet if the season isn't even certain.
