We gave up Harrison and a (supposedly) 7th round pick. I'm at the point where if Brown can move the ball even a little bit forward 12-15 times a game...i'll be thrilled.

Yeah I am too. I just don't want people to think this is the Pro Bowl Ronnie Brown, Master of the Wildcat. That dude is long gone. I'd be happy with 12 carries for 50 yards and 3 catches for 25 per game from Brown.

Wonder if we throw a couple Wildcat looks at some point? That could be fun to see, Brown and Best in the Wildcat....

I think the Lions will simplify his role for a bit unless/until he shows he can do more.

Deal is nixed because Harrison is still injured. And to Todd, why the head scratching? I explained the rationale behind my opinion quite succinctly. We have a better team than the Eagles and even they can't make use of Ronnie Brown. He's had a lousy 13 carries for 2.9 average and no receptions, and basically 3 years in a row his average has taken a hit. He has no business being a part of our team. We should be able to carry 3 guys that are worth more than him.

Lions' trade for Ronnie Brown off due to Jerome Harrison medical issue

The Lions also signed running back James Davis to the practice squad and released tight end Nathan Overbay. Davis worked out for the Lions on Tuesday.

I also liked harrison but now he is injured so they should put him on IR and bring in James Davis or turn stefan logan into a runnig back.

Biggest load of BS I ever heard. Eagles backed out on this. Lions should file an appeal with the league and see if they can get a second opinion on Harrison. Unless they already knew something was wrong with him, it makes no sense why they wouldn't dispute this.

If not, I hope they continue searching the unsigned market like Tiki, Portis, or Maroney. They should look at Brian Westbrook too. Good way to stick it to Philly, bring back their old workhorse and revive his career here.

idk the rules, but I wonder if DET-PHI are allowed to extend the trade talks due to this situation, and perhaps discuss PHI taking a different player from us to complete the trade. This sucks.

I suppose there's still a chance they could release him, considering Brown isn't going to be too happy playing for the Eagles now.

Problem is, we'd have to still claim him off waivers and since we have one of the best records, we would be last in line.

Disappointed....

How does our backup Rb who doesn't play get injured?

On the bright side, now we get to keep our 2013 7th rounder!!

From ESPN

As Philadelphia Eagles doctors were giving newly acquired running back Jerome Harrison his physical, they discovered a brain tumor that nullified a trade with the Detroit Lions, according to two league sources.

The trade might have actually saved Harrison's life, the sources said. Without the deal being made, Harrison would not have undergone a physical. The tumor is now being treated, according to sources.

Wow a blessing in disguise. Hopefully Harrison will be okay.

Harrison is also supposedly out for the season.

Amazing that they found the tumor, hope it works out for him.

Best is being advised by his doctors to sit out the season and consider retirement. Sigh.

Jerome Harrison is a lucky man for having this discovered while it can be treated. Hope he gets well

As for Best...yikes. Serious yikes. Looks like Keiland Williams and MoMo time

Yeah, I'm happy for Harrison and his family for finding this when they did and I wish him well.

Its amazing to me that we are likely without 3 of our RBs for the rest of the season; Best, Leshoure, Harrison.

Trent Richardson in next season's draft FTW

Blessing in disguise for Harrison. Get well soon. :)

I love Trent Richardson, but he is top 10 pick, we wont get him.

What about TJ Duckett as a short term fix?

Today the Lions signed Eldra Buckley and placed Harrison on the Reserve/Non-football illness list.
