Simply having a LB who is in the position to make a play is better than having a LB who was constantly out of position and liked to draw needless penalties. A league average place-filler LB is better for this team than Curry.

It really was that pass by Whitehurst to Rice. There was no one within 15 yards of him. What does Charlie do? He throws it in such a spot where Rice can't keep his feet in bounds.

Not that I didn't already know, but Whitehurst is definitely NOT our guy. End of discussion. If he was a first or second year guy, then maybe I might reserve such judgment. Quite frankly, I'd rather see Josh Portis QB now if it's not Tarvaris.

Agreed. I wanted to see what he could do this year because I am not a big fan of Jackson, but I've seen enough.

He looks terrible on this last drive. Bailed out on a PI call where he missed Rice.

^^^ Not only that, but I get the feeling that the team doesn't really have CBJ's back now in terms of confidence in him (whatever they may say publicly to the contrary). Especially the D now. You hold a team to 6 points, you expect to win. You should win.

I still feel the team is behind Tarvaris, still confident in him, at least for the time being.

Oh God. There's just a built-in ceiling now as to how much hope and excitement I'll allow myself to have for this team until we get this QB situation resolved for the longer term. We put it off far too long, at least in terms of the draft, and when we have tried to address it otherwise, it's been in kind of a band-aid way.

I'll say it till I bore myself to death by saying it. The QB position is BY FAR the single most important position in all the major team sports. It's not close for second. Even a great pitcher only pitches every fifth day. You've just GOT to always have as your highest priority ensuring that this position is taken care of under almost every scenario. I think teams should have a talented paid scout who does nothing but scout the position in the college ranks, as well as keep tabs on 2nd and 3rd string QB's in the NFL. It's that much of a priority, that much of a concern in terms of having a winning team in the NFL.

Look at Indy. They were considered a playoff contender with Manning. They're 0-6 now. Green Bay with Rodgers: Super Bowl win. New England with Brady: multiple Super Bowl appearances and wins. Ditto for Pittsburgh with Big Ben. New Orleans: Super Bowl win, and always right there in the hunt in recent years with Brees.

It's just that important, especially when it's become more and more of a passing league.

Agreed. One of the worst played, officiated games ever and to top it off I had to listen to Jim Mora do color commentary.

I was worried about the strip sacks for Charlie and sure enough it happened. He holds it vulnerable for way too long.

I thought the line took a step backwards.

I Thought the D was great, the personal foul was too bad on Bryant but we got jobbed on several calls. We won this game, but they removed Leon's legit score while allowing Rice to get held and also taxing Kam for a legal hit.

Injuries are making me sad.

We need to get our hands on Barkley, even if he's no luck, he surely would be better than what we have by leaps and bounds.

I miss TJack... that sucks to even say.

I wish we had Spencer as a backup... that also sucks to say.

Lynch... wth? I'm thinking J Force is about done with us if Lynch is hurting because we'll need a more conventional tandem than Leon and Justin. We just let Clayton slip, too, damnit.

If they are willing to spend a 2nd rounder on a running back, I would love to see Lamar Miller here. Looks a lot like a young Clinton Portis. So much speed. Wouldn't mind Polk for a 3rd rounder if he declares as well.

What a disappointment that Walter Thurmond is out for the year. Too bad for him. Too bad for us.
