The NFL Officating

Post#1 » by Jeff23 » Wed Oct 26, 2011 5:39 pm

Its ridiculously bad.

The reason why the chargers lost were the refs. That PI on Jammers was just brutal. Then the hit by Bernard Pollard on Karim was a **** great hit and they call a 15 yard penalty on pollard. That was a momentum changer there. The PI on Ike Taylor vs Fitzgerald was also ridiculous.. the ref threw it like 2 minutes after the play happened. And why does it always take such a goddamn long time to make a decision? They discussed some penalties on a kick return for about 10 minutes on monday night. I am really annoyed by the officiating.

I agree, it has been awful this year. The worst part is the inconsistency especially on defensive penalties.

It seems like every time a WR gets laid out the ref automatically throws the flag, it is ruining football. We all get the "player safety" crap, but if you dont want to get get hit, dont play football. I dont mind protecting the QB's to an extent because we see what losing an elite QB to injury can do to a team (Colts) but that is also getting out of control.

Exactly.

The league is trying to get high-scoring games by punishing players for playing hard-nosed defense.

The helmet to helmet call is ridiculous. They get that one right about 1 time out of 100.

If a defender is going in to hit a player, it is OKAY if part of his helmet hits the other players helmet. 99.9% of the time they are leading with their shoulder and there just so happens to be contact. Players are moving at real-speed. Do these refs expect the defensive guy to stop time and move his helmet at a 23 degree angle so no contact is made at all? Please.

**** refs. Its such a pussy league these days.
