I came for the waters.

Waters? What waters? There are no waters in RealGM?

I was misunderestimated.

I'd say I'm at a 9 right now, but will probably be at a 10 once the NFL season ends.

I would've missed it a much less if this happened a few years ago, but my interest in the NFL has been waning. I've always thought the NBA was the more exciting sport and the Wizards were my favorite sports team anyway. Don't get me wrong, I still like to watch the NFL, and watch Redskins games every Sunday, but the way this franchise has been run the past few years has made me lose some interest in the NFL has a whole. I will regain my interest once this team decides to develop a real franchise QB and gets out of the mediocrity cycle.

I don't watch hockey and baseball, even though DC's most successful franchise is the hockey team, so I don't have that to fall back on.

The casual fans aren't feeling the affects yet because they have The World Series, NFL, and maybe hockey to follow, but they're going to start feeling to affects mainly once the NFL season ends.

In the mean time, this is going to be my first year playing for a basketball team in 3 years, and I'll be focused more on my schoolwork since I won't have to stay up late for west coast games lol. And I'll be watching A LOT more college basketball. This is going to be a fun college B-ball year. Plenty of stacked teams. The 2012 draft might be the deepest draft in a while, and I'll be scouting our next draft pick.

I mean, if people posting on a random message board don't care, how much could "JoeDaFan" as Coach Thompson call him, possibly care? Also, if people care that little about the Wiz/NBA, why on earth do they post/read here -- especially now?

+ 2, Like Fish, the Wizards are my favorite team by far in all sports and I would miss watching them play, both in person on tv. However, I will miss watching non-Wizards NBA games equally. Basically, if there is an NBA game, it will be on my TV. There is no substitute.

The only good side in a cancelled season would be getting a substantial amount of money back in season tickets and not having the frustration and aggravation of watching the Wizards play like they have the last two years.

I really don't miss it all that much, honestly. I'm at maybe a 4/10. Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy when the situation is resolved and games are back, but it's not like I'm struggling to find other ways to spend my free time now that I can't really watch or chat about basketball.

But then, unlike many others, I've always treated sports more like a fun pastime than a way of life, so maybe I'm better equipped to handle the loss. I'd almost liken my feeling to having a TV show I'm a fan of get canceled. Kind of a bummer, but life moves on.

I'm moving to New York in three days, and probably back to Kentucky next summer. It's going to be much harder to follow the Wizards. Once I'm back in KY, I'll have to decide whether it's worth it to watch the games, via NBATV or whatever, since they won't be available outside of TNT/whatever.

I'm rather bitter about nonsense from the league, both owners and players, but mostly owners. If they don't figure things out soon, I might pull a "good bye cruel world" and just bail. Kentucky is a college ball state.

I was jonesing until i heard the news of an All-Star game happening in Australia with some of the biggest stars coming over (Dwight Howard and Kobe confirmed, whole thing on the backburner though until the next 2 weeks of the season are definitely postponed).

This is pretty much the only opportunity I would get to see so many stars of the NBA in the flesh. Im planning a DC trip in the next couple of years to see Wall and co., but this is a chance to see superstars all together at once. This is once in a lifetime kind of sh*t.

So im a bit excited for that provided the cancellation goes ahead. Afterwards though, ill be back to jonesing.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

The Wizards are by far my favorite team, and I don't watch other sports, only follow the scores, so it should be high.

With that said, if there must be a strike, this year is a convenient one for me. I just don't have any time between starting a new career with long hours and constant travel, moving to a different country, and getting married. Watching means paying to stream a blurry image on my tiny netbook computer. And the Wizards are going to suck anyway (although I am fond of **** teams with potential). Were it last year, I would have been more distressed.

I really enjoy basketball and have been an NBA fan for 40 years. I have put WAY TOO MUCH TIME obsessing over the sport.

My feeling right now is I kind of wouldn't mind if they stayed locked out. I wouldn't mind putting my interest elsewhere. Something about the lockout has totally turned me off on the owners and the NBA. As exciting as the NBA playoffs were and as happy as I was to see Miami lose, and to see Dirk and Cuban finally win; for them to be locked out now puts the whole thing in perspective.

Let the rich guys fight over money. It's the basketball I like. You could remove every single player and every owner and for me, I would watch just the sport being played by nobodies. I will not miss the NBA. I really watch it because there is no other professional alternative.

I would love to see a new league and especially one without David Stern.

I must say that it really hit me last night how much I miss the NBA. Halloween is usually the night I am rushing to get through trick or treating with my son so I can watch the Wiz game.

I feel exactly the opposite.

When the NBA players came to entertain troops and their family members last week, while I really did appreciate their gesture, I saw them as very fortunate athlete/entertainers. Those guys don't have it as badly as others who are facing tours to Afghanistan or Iraq, and family members. They are legitimately being squeezed by owners who want to maximize their profits. So, I like the players and respect their stand.

As for the basketball, I can take it or leave it now.

I know the NFL came back strong after their labor unrest, and I suspect the NBA will, too. I will love it again whenever they come back to play. But for now, I don't miss it. I am more, out of habit and admittedly loneliness, hooked on this site. I just don't like being held hostage as a fan. To heck with the owners, who care very little about the average fan or the players, in general. To heck with the NBA for now.
