I still think the Saints are still quite a bit better than San Fran, but the 49ers are putting together a nice resume.

If I had to bet money on seeding today, mine would be:

1. packers
2. Niners
3. Saints
4. Eagles
5. Lions
6. Giants

I have the Falcons and Giants close, Giants schedule is tough but they are the better team. Dallas and Chicago also have a shot.

Dallas choking away 3 wins really kept the door open for the Eagles. As bad as they look tonight, the Cowboys ought to be sitting at 6-0 or 5-1 with a relatively easy schedule remaining.

Assuming they win tonight, Philly should win the division if they can go 7-2 over their last 9.

I agree on your using unfortunately in regards to the Eagles likely getting into the playoffs.

It's by no means that i fear Green Bay can't beat Philly in the playoffs, just that if they get there, Philly has the kind of playmakers on both offense/defense that could allow them to potentially pull off an upset. On the flip side, i just don't think the Cowboys or Giants have the kind of weapons which would allow them to hang with the Packers in a playoff game. Eventually they'd get behind and start making mistakes, but Philly with Vick, Jackson, Maclin, and McCoy on offense could easily create a few big plays against our shaky defense that suddenly made Packer fans sphincters tighten up a bit. Off course Philly could also fall apart via turnovers in a playoff game and blown out.

Either way, i'd just much prefer that they don't get in at all because like the Packers last year, Philly has enough playmakers to get hot in the playoffs and make a run as a 9-7 or 10-6 type of team.

Back to back plays before the Cole sack of Jenkins beating his man and getting some inside pressures.

Man i wish Ted could have got Jenkins back, our interior pass rush among defensive lineman has largely been non-existent.

We'll see how the year plays out, but if Philly can get it's very talented secondary to start gelling together better, i honest might be more scared of playing Philly.

They on strictly talent alone have three corners that can cover at a high level. Only the Packers have three corners as talented as Philly has. Our offense often thrives because most defenses simply don't have multiple really talented corners to match up with the 3-5 WR sets that McCarthy puts out there.

The Philly defense has been killed a lot this year by teams running right at them up the gut, partially because of the scheme they play. Being willing to keep running the ball isn't exactly the Packers strength.

They have a couple of pass rushers who can be disruptive without having to blitz because they can win one on one battles with offensive lineman, we only have Matthews who can do that.

On offense in a one game win or go home situation, Vick IMO is a scary QB to face. He not only can be so frustrating by turning 3rd and 8 type of potential sacks into a first down by running, he can at times do like Rodgers does by leaving the pocket and completing long passes to receivers who got free from DB's who took a step or two towards Vick given he has a very strong arm.

The Saints on the other hand i think are more like the Packers in various ways, but we are better overall at playing that way. If instead we got Philly in the playoffs though, i wouldn't be totally stunned if they pulled an upset via multiple big plays or the Pack won something like 38-14 because the Eagles imploded.

Yeah, I agree, and unfortunately, I think they are getting in. Check out the Giants next six games:

@ NE
@ SF
vs. PHI
@ NO
vs. GB
@ DAL

They could very easily come out of that stretch 1-5.

Eagles have:

vs. CHI
vs. ARI
@ NYG
vs. NE
@ SEA
@ MIA

However it shakes out, I will definitely be rooting for the Eagles to be left out. We're going to have to hope the Giants find some magic for that to happen though. The Cowboys are just mentally weak and Romo folds under pressure, they won't do it. Skins suck ass.

I have no idea what he said, but I think he's always insane so I do not find this surprising. Even for a contrarian the guy is a total nutjob.
