Re: Top 10 NFL QB's:
I didn't say he should be ranked 20th, he just shouldn't be ranked 4th. We've got 8 games to go on. His team is 2-6, and he's not statistically overwhelming yet. He's spectacular for a rookie but if I had to win a game tomorrow, I'd take Rivers without question. Rivers isn't having a great season, but he's coming off 3 straight seasons with over 4000 yards and a 100+ QB rating.

Re: Top 10 NFL QB's:
Fitzpatrick has been a top 10 QB this year. He is 6th in QB rating, 3rd in pass completion, 10th from the bottom in interceptions, and 3rd from the bottom in Sack %. The Bills are one of the 4 teams way ahead of the pack in both offense and pass rank by FootballOutsiders rankings along with NE, GB and NO. He also has one of the best mental dispositions and calmness among QBs, unlike Schaub and Romo to start

Re: Top 10 NFL QB's:
Modified list for right now:
1. Rodgers, and he's starting to lap the field
2. Brady
3. Brees
4. Roethlisberger, but 2-4 vary based on which way the wind is blowing my hair at a given time
5. Newton. Best rookie QB ever. Suck on that Dan Marino, you ringless fraud!
6. Eli Manning. Never thought I'd put him there but when he avoids the INTs he's really pretty good
7. Cutler
8. Fitzpatrick. See what Dr. Mufasa said
9. Vick. For his dynamic plays
10. Rivers. Maybe Romo. Maybe Hasselbeck. Maybe Alex Smith this year. Maybe Matt Stafford this year. Too inconsistent with all these guys.

Re: Top 10 NFL QB's:
Why is Stafford being ranked so far below Newton? Stafford has a 99 rating and a 19 to 4 TD/Int ratio for a team that has a 6-2 record. I could understand dropping him because you like to see it a little longer, but then why is Newton being elevated so high?

Re: Top 10 NFL QB's:
I've personally been bummed at the number of plays that Stafford misses. He has moments where he is def. better than Newton but he has a lot more where he just doesn't look like a good QB. I love Newton's ability to make things happen even when he's in trouble. Sure he throws some bad picks but this guy is a rookie that got no offseason work with his team, coming from a different college offense. I was a Newton supporter pre-draft and even I'm stunned at how quickly he has progressed. Put Stafford on Carolina and I'm not sure they have a win yet. Put Newton on Detroit and they could win multiple playoff games this year, and with Stafford they might luck into covering the spread in a Wild Card loss to the Saints or Giants.

I'm basing them on how I think their 2011 season will be ranked by the end of the year. Rivers and Roethlisberger are pretty far behind him at this point in the season, but will likey do a little bit of catch up over the next 8 games.

I'll keep Stafford thanks...

Always remember that Merrill Hoge retired because of multiple concussions. And he's a Steeler for life. But to defend him a bit, Big Ben does things that Brady or Brees cannot do and it leads to wins. He's not as great a pure passer but there's more to playing QB than just throwing the ball well. Put Brady behind some of the lines Big Ben has had in Pittsburgh and he'd be out of the league already.

Oh hes a great QB, but saying he's only behind Rodgers is just not correct.

Re: Top 10 NFL QB's:
Putting Newton in the Top 10 is a little much but that's just a testament to how damn good he's been. I mean I was totalllllly wrong on this guy.
He is incredible. The discussion between Cam Newton v Andrew Luck gets a little interesting now. I never thought I'd be saying that 3 months ago.

Re: Top 10 NFL QB's:
I thought Cam Newton was going to be bad. Really bad. Like, JaMarcus Russell bad. So yeah, I've been more than surprised by his good play. Love it. Big ups to Cam.
But Icness; Jay Cutler at #7? Damn. Feel like I'd put Fitzpatrick AND Romo over him atleast.

Re: Top 10 NFL QB's:
Considering that Cutler doesn't have one WR or two OL that would see the field on Romo's or Fitzpatrick's teams, I think he is doing an amazing job. He was outstanding against Detroit and Minnesota.

Re: Top 10 NFL QB's:
Rodgers- The gap between him and Brady is substantial right now quite honestly.
Brady- Still a monster.
Brees- Consistent just like he's been for the past however many years.
Newton- I don't know how he's doing this with near-0 polish. So dynamic.
Rothlisberger- Honestly he's here by default I don't think he's very good.
Stafford- Many are starting to overrate him but he's still a great young QB.
Vick- When the Eagles start winning he'll jet up this list. He's better than Brady when he's on.
Eli- He's been very good this year.
Fitzpatrick- Doesn't have gaudy stats, but he's smart with the ball and consistent and his team keeps winning.
Rivers- Normally he's top 5, but he's been awful this year. The only reason I'm listing him here is because I don't feel like elevating anyone else into the top 10.

nfl network show a stat that blew my mind. Brees has 32 int's since the start of the 2010 season. The most in that span in the nfl.

He has thrown more 4th quarter INTs in his career than any active QB except Kerry Collins. It's the dark lining to his great career.

I said it earlier and will say it again, this guy is easily Top 10 and likely Top 5 already.
Once he really "gets it" he's Top 3, I'm guessing by this time next season.
You really think he is going to be better than one of Rodgers, Brady or a healthy Peyton?
Yes, I do BUT I did preface it by saying "Once he really gets it".
So yeah, once he understands the game more and w/ better teammates, yeppers, I don't see why not.

ROFL.
Marino's rookie season sh*ts on Cam's. Dan had 20 TD, only 6 INTs, and 2,210 yards in only 9 games started...and there's not a chance in heck that Cam is touching Marino's second year.
