Daye is hardly an asset, while Jerebko just came off a big injury. White is no where near an asset to the Wolves. Jerebko does have value though, but Minny doesn't need more forwards, and Daye is a 3 point specialist with stone feet and is rail thin and also plays the forward position. Rip, Daye, and pick could net you Beasley, but then you are overpaying heavily since the Pistons are guaranteed to be in the lottery..

I dont know...Gordon still has potential to be a 18-20pt scorer off the bench and Marvin Williams potential isn't as high as Gordon's...Maybe if the Hawks offered Josh Smith, I think the Pistons might offer Gordon and one of there young SF's...In addition, I dont think the Pistons need to trade players for cap room because they will be 7mil under the cap this season...

None of those players are assets.I view them as role players that you develop and hope they reach their max potential. Austin Daye has the most upside out of the three.

Ben Gordon needs to be in a better system that allows him to have more attempts per game. With Detroit he's not getting that and I think they'd like to have his contract off their books depending on the return. Ben Gordon for Josh Smith makes no sense for Atlanta since we can just extend Jamal Crawford if we value him enough.

They are 7 mil under the cap with Stuckey and Jerebko being free agents. Either way you look at it Dumars is going to lose face on one of his deals. Either he lets the guard he promised would be a franchise player Stuckey go or he resigns him at which point he has a 12 million dollar bench combo coming off two abysmal seasons and his younger and considerably much cheaper replacement already on the roster. Simply no way you can argue that a potential amnesty victim has anywhere near the value of Josh Smith.

If they could get Marvin for Gordon and amnesty Villanueva they would feel the need to have someone pinch them so that they know they aren't in a nightmare anymore. With the crap seasons he's put up and that amount of money he's owed to a player that has always been limited due to his size I can't see any conceivable way that Gordon has positive value at this point.

I like Ben Gordon but he is not worth the extra salary. In theory Gordon and Prince for Marvin and Hinrich would be a good deal.

I'm not sure if we can consider Gordon an amnesty victim...I think all GM's know that Gordon was playing his lowest minutes since his rookie year while playing in Detroit for the last 2 years...In addition, everybody knows about the Pistons serious logjam at the SG position...But at the same time, he shot over 40% from 3pt and 44% from the field last year...So I think Gordon still has positive value or he at least has decent trade value for other players making close to his salary...I always thought an amnesty victim would be players like Rashard Lewis, Gilbert Arenas, or Elton Brand...Those guys have huge contracts without the full potential left to justify their contracts...

Ben Gordon/Flip Murray/Jamal Crawford cant defend and need a boatload of shots to try to balance.

Elton Brand is still an elite defensive anchor and has 2 years left. Gordon's potential was when he was Derrick Rose' pressure release.

He dropped 50 some odd points on a 33yo Ray Allen and Ray Allen dropped 50 right back on the smaller tweener Gordon. Horrible contract he doesnt have much potential or trade value to us who have defensive problems already.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
