Which Heat will surprise this year?
Assuming a season of course.
Who do you see stepping up? Who might be stepping down? Anyone look to be ready to bust out?

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Re: Which Heat will surprise this year?
I think our Big Three will play much better overall. While Wade had a ton of injury problems last year, especially early in the season, Bosh needed some time to get adjusted to his new role as much as LeBron did, who had to get used to playing off the ball a lot more. Additionally, I'm sure they all worked on their games and improved them in a way it'll help them in their new roles. I expect D-Wade to be a more consistent outside shooter (more in the way he used to be, especially in the 08/09 season), I expect LeBron to be a lot more comfortable in the post and I expect CB to be a tougher defensive force.
Regarding players who will simply surprise us by playing better, I see Mike Miller having a good year as well. If he can stay healthy, he'll show why we offered him the contract he has now.
Also, Dexter Pittman could see some minutes after spending another year just working on his body.
A player who could fall off the map a little bit is Joel. Due to a lack of alternatives, he was our starter last season and did as well as he could. With help hopefully coming to town, he could see his minutes drop dramatically and become more of a situational player. James Jones is actually in a similar situation if he even comes back.

Bosh. He was pretty erratic for a good portion of the year, I expect more consistent production offensively and defensively (especially on the boards) from him this year.

If Mike Miller can maintain good health we'll definitely see an improvement in his stats. That shouldn't surprise anyone though. And I know a lot of Heat fans doubt Chalmers but I think he'll take over the reins as the starting PG and play well enough.

i think lebron is gonna step up, he looks alot slimmer and that's really good sign.
someone off the map is pittman, i think he'll step into a backup center role.

Re: Which Heat will surprise this year?
I have a good idea of what the Big 3 will bring on a nightly basis, and the same goes for Haslem. All of these guys are a model of consistency. That being said, I expect all of these guys to improve in some facet(s) of the game however minor/major it may be.
That leaves my choices to Chalmers, Miller, and Pittman.
Mario and Dexter have a GREAT opportunity to play a key role and significant minutes. They better take advantage of this chance.
As for Mike, it would be a surprise to me if he plays 70+ games this season. I love what he can bring to the team with his rebounding and shooting when healthy, but I'm going to flip out if he misses a ton of games. PLEASE, stay healthy!
I fully agree with DWadeno3 on Joel/JJ.
Kind of OT, but I'll throw this out there...
Hopefully Howard, Bibby, and Dampier are gone. I'm torn on House/Magloire (Sentimental value).

Mike Miller will surprise a lot of uninformed Heat fans when he's healthy and confident again. Pittman will probably come out of nowhere and surprise some people.
Chalmers never stops surprising me with amazing plays and bonehead mistakes. Let's hope he'll tone down the latter.
Joel has the biggest opportunity to step up and surprise some people given his, lack of offensive offensive prowess
LeBron could remind people just how dominant he really is. Bosh is also an obvious answer.
I hope they bring Varnado in at some point, because I got a feeling that not too many non-Heaters know about him and he'll turn some heads and make the top 10 just because of his blocks.

Mike Miller, will be healthy, and have had a lot of the offseason just practicing on his 3's getting them back to where they were. He's the real key for our team, if Lebron or Wade can go on the bench with Miller coming on and actually providing something other than rebounds this year our team will be so much better for that.

Pat Riley...he will fire Spoelstra VERY QUICKLY if the team does not play well to start with, especially in a shortened season!
