Clippard is a very solid prospect, easily a top 5 prospect in our system which is arguably a top 5 system in baseball. Get ready to see some FILTHY secondary pitches tomorrow night. What worries me about tomorrow night is that Clippard's calling card is his control, and few pitchers have great control in their first ML start due to nerves. Even Hughes didn't have it his first start.
He's had great control in the minors. He has a plus changeup and a plus curveball. His fastball isn't plus, it's around the 89-92 range but he spots it well. He's got a deceptive delivery, kinda Tim Lincecum-like in the way his delivery is.
