"The rumblings coming out of both the players side and owners side are suggesting there is a deal," said Checketts.

"I think this is heading in a positive light. This certainly could and has already in this negotiation over time, crashed into a wall. I get a different feeling about this. I think both sides have come together and are trying very hard to iron out the details and come out unified."

Checketts expects positive news to emerge on Thursday evening.

"I've received a couple of phone calls from friends who are very close to the process that say 'we have a deal and it's a matter of having everything straightened out."

Call me when they actually reach a deal. All this progression talk means very little to me right now because of the lack of ACTUAL games being played at the moment.

With that said, this year i'm going all in on the Warriors. Mark Jackson and Jerry West plus their new ownership will have the Bay Area turned around. I have the Warriors as the top 8 team in the West, take it right now the Warriors will be the surprise of this year Western Conference. Book it. No denying the Logo as well as Mr. Mama There Goes That Man......whenever Monta Ellis dunks the ball.

what concerns me is that Western powerhouses are old teams that are capable of coming back (LA, SA, DAL) so if they do get in a slump, they'll surely turn it on during the right time. hopefully LAL's slump wouldn't be long since there are limited games.

what makes the situation worse is the younger hungry teams (LAC, MEM, GSW,...) making their push during the oldies' "slump period".

expect a tight race come post all star.

If the players reject the proposed deal this time I'm sure we won't have a season.

This or never and I hope they understand it.

Also I never thought I'd say this but Stern has done a great job to bridge the sides this time around.

If a whole season is lost look for Stern, Billy Hunter, and Fisher to be fired on the spot. Stern is going to get so much heat for letting the whole season go. Billy Hunter and Fisher for not being able to lead the union and the list goes on for those two.

The only bright side about this lockout is that we may have a new commissioner soon.
