Which Lakers will surprise this year?

Assuming a season of course.

Who do you see stepping up? Who might be stepping down? Anyone look to be ready to bust out?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I'm feeling Devin Ebanks establishing himself enough that next year he can have a break out year and be a solid roll player for the future.

Bynum will be a BEAST!

Darrius Morris, Matt Barnes and Devin Ebanks will play very well off the bench

I agree with what GeK mentioned, time for one of these young guns to step up. Help toward the next decade will hinge on Devin, Derrick and two rooks we just got.

I don't know why but I think Andrew Goudelock will surprise a lot of people with his range.

hoping Ebanks becomes servicable backup and potential starter one day, Id be happy if he had the same hustle/tanacity as Barnes....imagine both of them on the floor at the same time harrasing the crap out of opposing teams backups :)

Matt Barnes....if he's healthy he was arguably our best SF last year...Artest or Metta Worldpeace was pretty sorry all last year, he really shouldn't have kept his starting job.

Walton, it's time to go. Hopefully Barnes gets more time and Ebanks can fill it up.

I would love to see us keep Barnes for a few more years with Ebanks as the future, Walton and WorldPeace can go.

Agree with Walton, not with Ron. He was still playing lock down defense. Now let's see what he can contribute outside of the triangle.

don't get me wrong, i still believe in Artest but with Ebanks emerging and he's cheap, the Lakers might start playing him more which means Artest or Barnes will have to be ousted. I like Barnes a lot and I really think his game fits with the Lakers. Barnes is a cheaper Artest and can hit the corner 3 while not having to be the go to guy. Artest doesn't have the confidence to be the 4th or 5th option and hit that corner 3.

If there is a way to keep both Artest or Barnes i'm all for it.

Watch for Matt Barnes to shine for us this year.

I feel that Minhee. Ron doesn't have a big contract either. I do know he's older & will have to be the first out if so.

since they're under a new coaching philosophy, I'm expecting the following will surprise us:

-Ebanks with more PT and fulfilling every Laker fans' fantasy of being Ariza 2.0 or even better

-a GS or even an ORL Barnes

-Blake getting his head outta his arse

-a HOU Ron (this one's a stretch)

-Morris with a Tony Douglas game at the very least
