Scenario one..
If Larry Brown was some how still our coach, how do you guys think he would have meshed with Kemba?
Scenario two..
How far do you think Paul Silas could have taken our playoff roster if he was the head coached for the full season? Also what do you think our record would have been? its my personal belief we were a very deep team that year, and could have gone farther with better coaching..
Felton/DJ/Hughes
Jax/Hendo/Hughes
Crash/UPS
Diaw/TT/Ratliff
Chandler/Nazr/Ratliff/Diop

Two Hypothetical Scenarios..

Terrible.
Remember that story about Billups when he thought he had a horrible game because he didn't put up many points but Clown thought it was the best game he had ever played because he set up his team mates all game and played solid D? Kemba is more score than set up and I think that would drive the Clown nuts.
Plus the Clown has to be the alhpa dog and I don't think he would handle a personality like Kemba's challenging his.
I think Coach Silas is going to be awesome for Kemba with his "got it, shoot it" approach and the connection he makes with his players.

I have no doubt we would have been a better playoff team. All Coach Silas would have to have done in that 1st round is show a willingness to adjust our D to compete with the Magic's offense and he would have been better than the Clown.

That's scary, especially for a rookie point guard who still needs to learn the position.

I get what you are saying, but I'd rather him be allowed be who he is and play to his strengths than be forced into something he is not.
That's the best way to truly maximize someone's potential IMO.

Re: Two Hypothetical Scenarios..
i think the only way we could have gone further in our playoff season would have been if silas somehow found a way to connect with chandler and to get him playing like he played for the mavs last year, which might have been impossible since chandler was still dealing with injuries. i dont think its any secret that chandler and LB didnt mesh. we could have really used chandler playing at his best that season. that might have been good enough to get us a different matchup. but if we were stuck against that magic team, i still think the best we could have done would have been to maybe take that series to 6 games rather than a sweep.

I'm not even sure we would pick Kemba. I guess we wouldn't have Cho at first place and didn't trade o ndraft night the way we did. LB would probably like Biyombo (all defense) but Pistons would pick him instead of us as we may not moved up.

And I understand what you're saying but as a relevant example look at Brandon Jennings. He shot out of the gate bombing away and now after opposing defenses have figured him out, Jennings has no clue how to actually run an offense and get other people involved. If Kemba was a shooting guard I would be more inclined to agree with you, but since he's the point and the QB of the offense, he needs to first learn how to be an NBA point guard before being given free reign to keep shooting. Otherwise you're going to see unhappy teammates when his shots aren't falling.
And yes his strengths are his aggressiveness on offense, but he's a point guard and this is the NBA. In college he blows by everyone, in the pros they will eventually learn how to stop you. That is why he needs to learn how to use his teammates to his advantage and not be selfish. As Larry used to say, play the right way and that goes hand in hand with a rookie learning how to play the point. Otherwise we end up with Brandon Jennings or Stephon Marbury. Ball hogging point guards who only care about their own stat sheet. No thanks.
I'm just saying he needs to find that perfect balance of being aggressive while involving his teammates in the offense. There is no reason why he can't do both. That's what makes great point guards great. And I hope Silas teaches him to be a point guard first, shot chucker a distant second.
I hope DJ gets traded because I do not want to see Kemba play the 2 guard. I think that's what hurt Ray when he first came into the league. Took him awhile to actually learn how to be a point guard, and even now he struggles with it at times. As talented as Kemba is, his destiny lies at the point guard spot because of his height and I want him learning the right way from the start. Get rid of the bad habits from the get-go.

Re: Two Hypothetical Scenarios..
Slam is not saying that Kemba should not learn the position. He just means that Kemba should be given lattitude to be himself while he learns. This should help him to maintain his confidence while he is getting slapped around by the vets. If a finger is always in his face from day one he may loose his confidence and never reach his potential. He is not Raymond Felton or Stephon Maurbury. Those two idiots both thought they were better than they were. Brandon Jennings is still a kid. It is two early to count him out. He may still develop one day. Kemba is practically a sure thing. He has a defined skill set, and a high basketball iq. That is why he deserves this latitude.

Scenario 1: See Iverson, Allen.
Scenario 2: The only thing I think would have happened is Charlotte moved up a seed, maybe 2.
