Tampa Lead Up
Obviously we should pound these guys at home. You can bet MM will remind them of how a winless Tampa team beat us a couple of years ago. Can't get caught looking ahead to Detroit. I want the D to have back to back solid games.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Tampa Lead Up
Bucs passing D is arguably the worst in the league.
They are giving up 8.5 yards per attempt (32nd), 94.6 rating (26th), 263 yards per game (28th), and only have 13 sacks (31st).
We owe these guys from a couple years ago. Packers win big.

I'll be in attendance. My first non-preseason game at Lambeau was last year against the Giants, so I'd like to remain undefeated, plz.

Been reading some Bucs forums -- sounds like the team has quit on Morris.

Re: Tampa Lead Up
The only Bucs post I read was somebody talking about how they want to hire Clements as OC. Just made me start thinking about how many coaches we're going to lose after the season. Then I remembered that we'll just find more great coaches and I feel ok.

Re: Tampa Lead Up
IF Newhouse has another bad game - maybe time to look at Sherrod at LT?
Next preseason i'd like Bulaga at LT.

Re: Tampa Lead Up
It will likely be Sherrod at LT, Bulaga at RT, Newhouse #3 OT next year.

Newhouse didn't even have that bad of a game. It certainly wasn't so bad that he'd get benched.
The interior of the line had its worst game of the season.

I thought he got worked pretty good, although Allen is the only player that has really given him big issues so far this year, IMO.

Still have faith in Newhouse. Getting destroyed by Jared Allen is something that has happened to pretty much every LT he has gone up against this year.

Re: Tampa Lead Up
Right now we have no long term LT. Sherrod can't even get on the field but he's a rook so there's nope. Newshouse we'll see. He's not shown me he can be a quality LT. I could see another OL high in the draft next year. Just as you can't give AR too many weapons you also can't surround him with enough good OL.

Re: Tampa Lead Up
That first sack Allen had was on Rodgers anyways. Pretty much ran right into him and would have most likely avoided the sack anyways if he didnt fumble. Newhouse looks fine, and is still really young and developing. I like his future and appears to be another steal.

Sherrod played quite a bit at RT the game that Clifton went down with an injury, this was the week before Bulaga returned. He held his own at RT. I think more than anything Sherrod was hurt by the lack of off season and a shortened camp, had to be hard on all rookies but in particular a position that requires a lot of coaching up and working with your fellow lineman. He looked like a completely different player to me in that game compared to the pre season.

Agreed.
I like our tackle situation overall with Bulaga, Sherrod and Newhouse, then having Lang as the emergency 4th guy. We are okay at G with Lang and Sitton (Sitton being one of the best players at his position in the game) and Wells is very good at C.
We obviously need some depth. But I'd say tackle is the position I am worried about least on the line.

Re: Tampa Lead Up
Anyone else listening to the Nick Collins interview on 1250? He's just such a good guy.
But man, his press agent is a freaking disaster. I know you might think that Nick's wife referring to him and Tramon being so close they're like "butt-buddies" is funny, but that probably isn't the best thing to say on the radio.

He really didn't. Minny did a lot of stunting and the interior 3 were the ones having the most trouble.

Re: Tampa Lead Up
Yeah, most of Allen's pressure I saw actually was on stunts up the middle. A few times he got around Newhouse but it was normally when Rodgers was already flushing out of the pocket or something.

Re: Tampa Lead Up
You can bet our opponents will try the same thing until we figure out how to stop it. Tampa and Detroit don't have Allen but have good DL's.

Apparently Outside the Lines is going to do a piece on Johnny Jolly.

I don't want to feel sympathy for him but I do.

It's too bad. I do feel bad for him if he has a true substance abuse issue and truly hope he can turn it around. I agree with A-Rodg that for drug/alcohol related issues the NFL should have some sort of support mechanism.
