Deactivating account after changing email

I recently changed my email address used on RealGM, and, in the process, had my account deactiviated for a time while waiting for approval of the new address.

While I don't doubt there is a valid reason why this approval process takes place, could we please throw up some kind of warning message PRIOR to the change of address that a period of deactivation will follow? Because I wouldn't have done it had I known this.
