Australia lost to Oman. That has to be a big upset.

No one probably cares but as an Iranian I'm very happy that they moved on to the next round, even though that was expected. North Korea is out, and while i expect Japan, South Korea, and Australia to qualify for the World cup, I think Iran is favorite for that fourth spot with China also out of the picture. How do you guys see the 5th place Asia winner doing against New Zealand...Always thought New Zealand was a weak soccer nation but they did beat Bahrain last time around. I know I'm looking a little too far into the future :lol:

EDIT: Nvm just learned that they would play the 5th place of South America not New Zealand

5th place COMNEBOL team is weaker this year because Brazil qualifies automatically; you'd still be heavy underdogs though. Australia had many games against 5th place Sth American teams - it's hard to travel there and win.

yup honestly if they can't beat teams like Iraq, Uzbekistan, Jordan etc they don't deserve to be in the WC anyways. Not saying those are bad teams but you have to be able to beat them if you wanna be in the WC.
