Well, they do... But I understand what you're trying to say.

I'm not sure who you are speaking off. The brothers?

I've heard they are not a bad company to work for as well.

I absolutely think Dana's a rat. A smart guy and a brilliant promoter, but putting financials aside, I probably wouldn't do business with him because I don't trust him to keep an even temperament if something doesn't go exactly his way. He's extremely immature and emotional for a multi-multi-multi millionaire businessman.

Well, that's fair.

I have met the guy once, and he talked to a few of us on the street. I'm not one to sit there and talk so much, but there were some super fans around and I was very impressed with how he treated them and offered his time and attention to people that really wanted it.

Business-wise, no idea. I have been privy to a few convos with guys that run small-to medium MMA show in Ontario and Quebec and man, fighters do a whole lot for a not a lot. MMA is still a very stinky business at it's base, so not sure if he is better or worse in that sense. Dana runs the biggest one in the world, so take that how you will.

Dana is one of the most polarizing guys around. I'll be interested if mma really does go "mainstream" how the casuals will react to him and his temperament. They have never seen a sports commissioner type guy like this before.

The only thing I don't like when it comes to Dana being polarizing is that it seems like everyone feels like its all or nothing. The haters don't recognize that mma as we know it probably wouldn't exist without Dana White. But the Dana lovers also question everything said in criticism about him as well.

In the end he is a great businessman who has done great things for the sport, who at times operates on pure emotion and can say some outlandish things. Just depends on how seriously you take what he says, and how much you value what he brings I guess.

Me too. From an optics perspective though, I wouldn't put Dana anywhere near a microphone unless he was hyping up a fight. They're going to need to keep him on a shorter leash; he could get away treating Loretta Hunt/Sherdog and Jon Fitch one way, but it's another thing alltogether dealing with Coca Cola in Brazil or Fox.

Polarizing, indeed. I actually like the guy and applaud his business sense, I just think he's hit/miss in terms of application with his biases and ego too often leading the way.

That's what I was talking about when those groups were protesting the ufc due to Forrest's rape comments.

They don't have to look far for ammo with some of the things that Dana/Rogan etc have said in the not so distant past.

It peaked at 8.8 million :o

That's very impressive considering how short the fight was.

Is that peak higher than Kimbo/Thompson's peak? I remember hearing Kimbo and 10 million viewers in the same sentence before.

Kimbo peaked at 6.5, and they had the benefit of going multiple rounds.

That's got to be considered a success then.

The Kimbo fight, especially the way it went down, could have had people calling/texting each other saying "Kimbo is getting beat down" or "Kimbo is going to make this dude's ear fall off."

I can't say I remember exactly what else was on TV that night either (maybe NBA/NHL playoffs), but I don't think there was anything as big as the college football game or the Pacquiao fight.
