Min/Mia

This trade isn't sexy. You have been warned. Now just assume Minnesota can't do anything interesting with Brad Miller. It would be great if we could snag Bogut or Gay, but just assume this is the best trade offered to Kahns Moleman.

MIN IN: Miller + Jones + Ilgauskas
MIA IN: Miller + Pekovic

Mike Miller didn't really live up to his contract, but a lot of it had to do with injuries. In Washington, he was actually pretty solid. According to ESPN, of all qualified SG candidates during the 2009/10 season, Miller was second overall in TS% (behind Bill Walker of all people), second in assist ratio, and first in rebounding rate. He's very efficient and definitely improves the team's backcourt.

Miami adds some much needed depth at center considering Anthony and Pittman are the only C's under contract. Miller's name was mentioned as a potential amnesty candidate, but at least Miami wouldn't have to swallow his contract if that was the case. Miami could replace Jones with House if they wanted, I don't care.

Big Z retired. Michelle Miller really sucked here. But I like it.

I'm perplexed by this one. Miller will be amnestied probably.

Miller is finished as a player and hated it here while he was here. I just don't see an incentive for us.

Pass. Would rather stick with our bigs instead of adding more wing players that won't get any minutes.

If we really want Pek gone I would much rather get a pick + cap space for him. We can just use the amnesty on Brad Miller.

Mike Miller would probably start over Johnson. More of an improvement over what we have. I really don't want to stick with Pekovic and Brad Miller since they don't have much of a future in Minnesota. I like the Pekovic trade, but I don't believe we'd get a deal that nice for him. I love Pekovic, but...

Obviously if we can amnesty Miller in order to acquire more talent we do it. I'm not disagreeing with you. This is just assuming there are no other options for Miller. This is simply a fall back option.

Why amnesty Miller? He's got a great contract, all things considered.

EDIT: As for the trade, I'd pass. It adds to the wing glut without really adding anything.

So I must have missed this. I know he was thrilled to come here, one of the rare guys who genuinely smiles at his first press conference. He gushed about when he grew up in South Dakota, coming to Minneapolis to watch the Vikings, Twins or the Timberwolves was like visiting Mecca.

What made him come to hate it? Our desire to see him take more shots? All the losses?

I thought it was something he said after he was traded -- including how he even had to pay for his own meals at practice or something.

Even if Minnesota is "home away from home" he would still be pissed to be on a team trying to put it all together to win +30 games. It's not about him not wanting to be here, it's about the right situation and wanting to win a championship.

Players no longer pay for their own meals, and we actually have a good coach for a change. I'm thinking Miller would be much happier here now.

Would he still refuse to shoot the ball when wide open?
