i dont know why they cant just cut out some inter-league games and play a real playoffs. now youre going to have people bitching how their team was 8 games up in the wildcard and lost in the one game playoff. and all the talking heads will complain how everything was fine as is, and theyre right - because theyre all yankees and red sox fans and everything was fine for them. who thought it would be smart to have 5 teams in the playoffs???? just make it 6, top two teams get their byes, your done. or make it 8 and have a normal playoffs.

The one thing I don't like is that the first wild card team could have a better record than the the other 2 division winners. for example AL 2010.
AL East- Tampa Bay (96 Wins)
AL Central - Minnesota (94 Wins)
AL West- Texas (90 Wins)
AL Wild Card #1 - New York (95 Wins)
AL Wild Card #2 (would have been) - Boston (89 Wins)
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
What the MLB should do is order these teams in terms of record:
AL East- Tampa Bay (96 Wins)
AL Wild Card #1 - New York (95 Wins)
AL Central - Minnesota (94 Wins)
AL West- Texas (90 Wins)
AL Wild Card #2 (would have been) - Boston (89 Wins)
the two lowest winning teams (Boston/Texas) play the one game playoff, winner faces Tampa.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Also, the division opponents should be allowed to face in the ALDS. For Example 2011:
AL East - New York (97 Wins)
AL West - Texas (96 Wins)
AL Central - Detroit (95 Wins)
AL Wild Card #1 - Tampa Bay (91 Wins)
AL Wild Card #2 - Boston (90 Wins)
Tampa/Boston - winner faces NY, because of the that is what the record dictates, rather than allowing Texas to face Tampa/Boston because they aren't in the division.

I think the sched needs a cut down add more teams.. playoff baseball sells tickets all markets would do better and im sure every fking player would want a playoff shot even if its a wildcard team. I think 162 games is dumb why so many games after about 100 you already know who the big strong players are really. 140 games it is get the boys playing in September start the playoffs earlier!
