Great win to state the obvious, especially considering that three backup LBs were on the field together at times. DJ Smith looks like a total beast out there, and Francois made a nice play on the ball after being targeted a few times by Stafford in the middle of the field. Was even more impressive considering they were calling the defense from the sideline and neither Smith nor Francois had the helmet with the communication device in it.

I also thought both CJ Wilson and Mike Neal made some positive plays today as well. With Wilson I think he was very out of shape with the lack of offseason workouts, and it looks like he's finally getting his legs. Neal occupied multiple blockers on several plays it seemed and had at least 1 hit on the QB.

Offensively let's hope Sitton is able to bounce back. I'd be ok with him missing a few weeks if it means he can be 100% ready to go for the playoffs. The line seemed to struggle at first when EDS entered before halftime, but he was really solid in the second half.

I feel like there was a lot of injuries in this game as a result of short rest (a result of less recovery time) so let's hope the weekend off will give guys like Bishop and Sitton a chance to get healthy. The Lions had a ton of players going down too it seemed.

This game makes me even more comfortable with the focus and the defense of this Packer team. They are going to get every team's best shot this season as the defending champs, but in a short week where everyone was focusing on Detroit and the possibility of a first loss, they had arguably the best defensive performance of the season and showed great mental composure on offense after a slow start. Even during the game it seemed like they tried to make everything about Detroit, but it only makes the win feel that much better.

This game reminded me of the Bear Packer games in the 80's. Bears were much better but Forest Gregg ordered a lot of smash mouth stuff and cheap shots since he knew that was the only way the Packers could stay on the field with the Bears back then. But in the end, the cheap shot stuff rarely worked and the Bears would always still win.

Felt like we took a bad physical punch but held in there and responded. Huge win.

TT may also find vindication yet again down the stretch if somehow Mike Neal turns it on and we forget about Cullen Jenkins.

Suh is out of his **** mind. He's obviously dirty, but then he hides behind some excuse that makes zero sense whatsoever. I hope he doesn't expect anyone to believe that. It'd be better if he'd just say yup I'm dirty, deal with it.

I told my friends here in Detroit weeks ago after the last Bears game, that the Lions were fake tough guys while the Bears were real tough guys.

It continues.

After the whistle, they won't think twice about stomping on an arm or smashing into a QB. Between the whistles, they're being pancaked blocked by a backup guard in pass protection.

BTW what happened to Suh? He's been largely invisible this year, after looking like a world beater as a rookie. Too much success too quick for that animal. Please test for the roids commish.

In the past, when Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has supplied his version of an on-field incident that resulted in a penalty or a fine, he seemed persuasive.

After Thursday’s Haynesworthy performance against the Packers, Suh’s effort to talk his way out of trouble comes off as pathetic.

“What I did was remove myself from the situation the best way that I felt in me being held down in the situation that I was in,” Suh said, via NFL.com.  “My intentions were not to kick anybody, as I did not.  [I was] removing myself, as you see, I’m walking away from the situation.  And with that I apologize to my teammates, and my fans and my coaches for putting myself to be in position to be misinterpreted and taken out of the game.”

It gets better.  Or, for Suh, worse.

“I was on top of a guy being pulled down and trying to get up off the ground, which is why you see me pushing his helmet down,” Suh said.  “As I’m getting up, I’m getting pushed so I’m getting myself unbalanced. . . .  With that a lot of people are going to interpret it as or create their own storylines, . . . but I know what I did, and the man upstairs knows what I did.”

What Suh did requires no interpretation.  He aggressively pushed the head of Evan Dietrich-Smith into the ground, and Suh stomped on Dietrich-Smith’s arm as Suh started to walk away.

“I understand in this world because of the type of player and type of person I am, all eyes are on me,” Suh said.  “So why would I do something to jeopardize myself, jeopardize my team, first and foremost?  I don’t do bad things.  I have no intentions to hurt someone.  If I want to hurt him, I’m going to hit his quarterback as I did throughout that game.”

He needs to quit while he’s not ahead.

“If I see a guy stepping on somebody I feel like they’re going to lean into it and forcefully step on that person or stand over that person,” Suh said.  “I’m going in the opposite direction to where he’s at.”

It’s an amazingly flimsy, and perhaps delusional, effort to explain what was obvious to anyone with eyes.  Apart from the ultimate penalty that will be imposed on Suh by the league office — and plenty of people believe a suspension is coming — Suh needs to be concerned about the impact of his behavior and his lame explanation of it on his marketability.  From Subway to Chrysler to any other company that has chosen to give Suh a lot of money to endorse its products, that money could be drying up, quickly.

That was so easy to see if you watch the two coaches. When there was a bad call against Green Bay, McCarthy would just walk up to the ref and in an aggressive manner ask what happened and say what he saw. When there was a bad call against the Lions, Schwartz was jumping around screaming, "that's bullsh**, and many other obscenities right at the refs. He acts like a 13 year old, so you can see why Suh acts the way he does.

If Suh had been contrite after the game (as Haynesworth was, interestingly enough), I bet he'd have gotten 1-2 games. Now I think there's an outside shot he's done for the year.

What I did out there was disgusting. It doesn't matter what the league does to me. The way I feel right now, you just can't describe it.

If he doesn't step up with a real apology immediately, he is **** with a capital ****. And justifiably so. The NFL can't trust him with their image.
