Post#1 » by kellmellus50 » Mon Nov 21, 2011 12:24 pm

Thursday .....Happy Turkey Day to all and a lions win will be desert.

Detroit has to continue running in order to be sucessfull that will open up the passing game.

As i have been saying stafford need more warm ups before games to cut down on early INT's

This game will be a shoot out Det wins 49-42

Give Kevin smith the ball both running and passing also do not play keiland williams. If Best comes back cut keiland williams.

Throwback unis??

I expect Smith and Morris to split carries, at least until one proves to be more effective than the other.

We should be able to use a lot of the gametape from last weekdend's Tampa/GB game. Tampa gave them a run for their money....hopefully we will be able to duplicate what Tampa had success with and add to it. Need to also look at the game tape of our home game against them last season - where we held Rodgers in check the entire time he was in there (before he got injured).

This is a game we'll definitely need all our corners healthy. Wright, Houston, Alphonzo, Berry all need to play big and Delmas and Spievey need to make sure they don't get any big plays.

Stafford is red hot, the offensive line dramatically improved, the running game exploded with long lost Kevin Smith, and the defense picked up the pressure.

Games like the last one is why nobody wants to play the Lions. That was the third game they have trailed by at least 17 points and won, a feat never before accomplished in the Super Bowl era. They have scored 45 or more points three times, one of two teams (Green Bay) that can say that.

The only way to beat GB is to outscore them 49-42 both offences can't be stopped.Who ever scores last will win.Kevin Smith will get us that last touchdown.(250 total yards 3 TD's.)

We beat GB at home last season, and the final score was 7-3.

Really looking forward to getting my eat and drink on while I enjoy this one. It's definitely going to be an airshow and both QBs should break 300 yards easily. The D-line will be key to this one for us too, as we need to pressure Rodgers and sack him for some second/third and longs.

We are a classic "can beat anyone, can get beat by anyone" team and we have a fighting chance in this one. A bad first half like a bunch of games this year though and we will get killed. It has gotta be a full 60 minute effort.

Happy holidays fellas

Burleson had a half to forget. My goodness he was bad. Matt was OK, missed some throws early. Defense has been very solid, could not be happier

Officiating was awful. Some of the calls were legit, but a few were totally wrong. The roughing the passer on KVB was especially egregious.

Luckily we are a second half team and only down 7. Feeling good still

Now you see why i am for first pick WR to replace burleson.

kevin smith injured really hurt the lions, same with houston they got a TD on the replacement.

suh getting kicked out is all his fault ,penalties are killing the lions.

the Suh ejection was so stupid. And the right call. It completely changed the game and gave them a touchdown. Schwartz should have kicked him off the field and told him to go to the lockerroom

awful

Suh is blowing it. Sad to watch. Bad game, bad loss, composure lost again by the Lions. Too bad.

I will say though that I think the media has been all over Detroit this season and its hurt the team. Build them up, tear them down, rinse-repeat.

To Piston Pete:

I was disappointed in not seeing throwback jerseys, and Nickleback was horrible. They put no effort into that performance and it was a weak song. In terms of the unis though, I would love to see a solid silver or chrome helmet, and something with a texture similar to those Oregon helmets which are badass imo. Football helmets sucking really bad is a big beef of mine as it's an important symbol of the game and very few teams put any quality thought into their helmet/uni design. Our helmets and uniforms have been on par with our performance results; maybe it's time to start dressing the part, preparing for the part, and then playing the part to complete a credible show. Who am I kidding in asking for so much; maybe I should just simplify my request down to just fixing the special teams units for now.

To Ajax's comment above:

The Suh play was embarrassing and awful, but it's not the end of the world, it's a mistake he will hopefully learn from. He did deserve to get kicked out of the game, but moreso I think Schwartz and Mayhew should have been ejected from the game. Those are the guys that are at the root of our problems, and we are now on the fasttrack to missing the playoffs because those 2 guys keep letting us down and are not doing their jobs. Schwartz has no business kicking anybody off the field until he first learns to hold HIMSELF accountable for his performance. If he and Mayhew were doing their jobs properly, then this Suh play might never have happened or it wouldn't have been as big of a deal, cause it's the least of our problems right now, we are disastrous on too many fundamental basics of the game and that's on Mayhew and Schwartz.

Another abysmal showing for the Detroit Lions yesterday; absolutely unacceptable.

The Lions certainly reinforced their reputation for being an undisciplined team on Thursday. This doesn't reflect well on coach Jim Schwartz or Suh, who seems unaware of the responsibilities that go along with being a face of your franchise."
