I think the Joneses go a little higher, but I like this one a lot. We'll obviously know more when Perry starts playing again next week.

Not really, maybe early 2nd. I have kris joseph rated higher than him and he barely made it into my top 30. I just dont see enough progression in his shooting and ball-handling which he's needed since he was a sophomore.

Re: The Inaugural MR Big Board
I like Kris Joseph a decent amount more myself.
I wish he was more aggressive though, he just looks so nonchalant out there a lot of the time, you watch him play when he gets it going though and you think, man this guy could be a really good NBA player, but then he kind of just mopes around out there for a quarter of the time he's on the floor.
Jeff Taylor looks like he could be a really nice role player at the next level though.
Early 2nd is fair though.

Re: The Inaugural MR Big Board
Kendall Marshall has to be in there somewhere, no? I know he's considered to be a 3 or 4 yr player, but at the rate he's going, he could get drafted in the lottery, maybe late lottery..
Dude is on fire, assist-wise. Another 10+ assist game tonight, making awesome pass after awesome pass. Averaging 11 apg through 5 games played.

Re: The Inaugural MR Big Board
i read that marshall is a good bet to return for his junior yr.
if he goes, i'd still have him in the mid to late teens. he's an amazing floor general, but i have reservations about how the rest of his game will translate.
he's definitely gonna have to improve his 3 ball and he might have to develop a post game since he wont be beating people off the dribble. the heels dont run a lot of PnR either so he'll have to get more well-versed in that (dont think he'll have too much of a problem with that since he plays at a great pace).

Re: The Inaugural MR Big Board
Honestly, this kid may work his way so high into the lottery by the year's end he has almost no choice but to declare.
If he's getting good vibes in May and June and hearing things like he'll go say 8th or 9th overall, IDK if he can really turn that down, especially if by chance UNC takes down the 64.

Re: The Inaugural MR Big Board
i dunno. im not too big on one dimensional players. as spectacular as that one dimension is, he's still a one dimensional player. i'd like to see how that passing translates vs tougher, smarter teams who play defense with active hands.
this south carolina team was scrappy, but it was young and awful.
wisconsin should be a good test in 5 days. kentucky too of course.

Re: The Inaugural MR Big Board
Absolutely, would like to see him against real competition as well but he looked quite good last year as well once handed the keys.
Then again, he showed all the same weaknesses last year as well and although his passing has gotten better, he really hasn't seemed to improve on much else.
I like him, I'm not going to front, but I'm also not even really saying I think he should or will work his way that high up based on my opinion, just that he might due to a combination of his abilities, team success, likely lack of quality point guards in this draft, a strong tourney run and history showing us that the best player at the shallowest position in a specific draft almost always goes too early if they're also a young underclassmen.

Re: The Inaugural MR Big Board
I think you have Quincy Miller too high. Right now, he's a slow(er) Austin Daye with a little more toughness. I'm hearing scouts don't even think he's a lock for the 1st round if he declares at this point.

im not a big quincy miller fan, but i still see him as a low risk, upside pick in the mid teens. that being said, i think tony mitchell could easily replace him in this slot if he was more hyped and got more exposure.
slower than austin daye? i dont see that. he's less immobile and has better ball skills. he's also not as frail as daye is. he looks like he weighs more than austin does now. what people forget is that daye did a lot of his work in the post, either mid post extended or high post in college. he was just turning, shooting over people and not really utilizing many ball skills. in the NBA he's being bodied/crowded and has no counter for that. at least if quincy gets crowded he can do something about it since he can put the ball on the deck with some dexterity. daye's just not a clever or skilled player when he catches the ball and cant get his shot off.
also, in terms of intangibles, quincy is a more feisty, competitive player whereas daye is more sheepish and passive.

Re: The Inaugural MR Big Board
I can not see WAS passing up on Drummond for Robinson, especially after workouts. Robinson is more ready to contribute but his ceiling is noticeably lower, imo. WAS is years away from being competitive, why not take a chance on a potential franchise big to pair with Wall? Develop him and pray he is not the next Kwame.
I would switch Q.Miller and D.Waiters. Outside of that it looks good.

Re: The Inaugural MR Big Board
WAS just traded for nene, and, despite what he thinks, his best position is C.
the moves that WAS has made the last couple of yrs definitely signal culture change. they're trying to get rid of the players with questionmarks surrounding their on court intelligence, work ethic, motor, etc. i dont think they'd want to acquire another one potentially in drummond, who's drive and on-court smarts/instincts are already in question. t-rob would be right in line with the culture change. he also happens to be a local product.

I disagree with Nene's best position being C. A few games ago vs. Indy, Hibbert was just shooting over anytime he wanted because Nene's lack of length and shot-blocking. He isn't much of a leaper. I think he would be best served playing with an athletic C that can block shots from the weakside, and Drummond fits the bill. If I were Washington, I'd draft Drummond, and being him off the bench for his 1st year, and hopefully he's ready to start after a few years under Nene's tutelage.
