as @Ken _Rosenthal reported, BoSox tried to pry Farrell from Toronto. I heard Jays asked for Clay Buchholz in return, which ended talks.

AA is certainly earning a reputation around the league as being someone with whom you do not, uh, mess with. Not capitulating to Beede, for example, becomes part of the legend.
But in this case, why not adopt a more receptive stance and try to pry a high-end prospect from the Sox, along with leaving your fierce division rival with Farrell as their manager? Sounds like a win-win.

sounds like another way of saying "Not for Sale"..... Boston just doesn't get it.
I recently read somewhere that Farrel is still their top choice. Thats why they came back and asked AA even after apparently moving on long ago. Their front office wants Farrel still. If im AA i keep the price that high. If they bite, good, if not, they can go hire Bobby Valentine.

I don't think it's necessarily reaching. If anything, think it just means that Farrell wasn't untouchable.

My favourite part of this is that when/if the Sox stumble early in the season, you know they're gonna have scads of fans saying they should have just gone ahead and given up Buchholz for Farrell...
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

AA is the man haha
The funny thing is the Red Sox are expecting just as big a return from the Cubs for Epstein even though they already released him.
