What's next is:

- Get the rookies under contract
- Sign Thornton
- Attempt to re-sign Dally, and if it doesn't happen chase other talented players with all that money
- Although an amnesty clause will make it more difficult, see if there are any other ways to leverage capspace into something of value
- Enjoy some actual basketball

If each team is allowed to void a contract, who would the Kings pick?

Kings don't really need to make a huge FA splash. Just resign Dalembert and Thornton and we're good to go. They played just over .500 ball at the end of last year when Tyreke was healthy and we had Thornton in the lineup. Plus we shored up our weakest position with Salmons, upgraded from Beno to Jimmer, and added Hickson for some frontcourt depth.

Tyreke/Jimmer
Thornton/Garcia
Salmons/Greene
Cousins/Hickson
Dalembert/Thompson

Bring on the season!

I'm guessing Pooh's career in Sacramento is over b/c he is stuck overseas and we have Thomas.

First I dont see the Kings voiding any contracts the reason being is my understanding you can only do that one time over the lifetime of the new cba and there is nobody we have that is grossly overpaid .
I think Garcia is risky because he seems to always get hurt during each of the past 3 seasons and sometimes more than once in the season . Salmons contract is a little high IMO however his contract each season he has left he makes less than what he will currently get this season each year there after . Both guys are tradable if needs be IMO.

Daly would be nice to resign but I would not want to risk overpaying him . He is not worth that risk .
Thorton on the other hand is a must resign . I do not feel we will grossly overpay hime . Besides we dont have to there is only a very few teams that will have enough cap space to use .
In reguards to cap space I do not see much out there for us to use alot of our cap on . Battier , Nene would be good but I see Denver resigning Nene & dont see Battie becoming a KING unless we grossly overpay him . T.Prince would be nice but we have a boatload of small forwards again Garcia , Salmons & Green can play SF as well as rookie Honeycutt so to sign a SF you better get not only a serious upgrade but to be able to trade 1 or 2 of ours . There are a number of free agents out there I kind of like but no one person is a game changer IMO so we should not overpay anyone .

The free agents in next years class will be huge . Far better than this years free agents . I think unless we can sign a couple of free agents without overpaying then our best bet is to aquire players via trades . That reason is easy simply because so many teams will be looking to dump salary we can take great advantage of that fact . We can get solid players this way and also aquire draft picks by being willing to take another teams player for the sake of having saved them from haiving to pay luxury taxes etc. If that is the scenerio that happens I am all for that providing the player we get is of use to us .
This season will be interesting to say the least .

Anyway, numero uno is RESIGN THORNTON. After that, is to also resign Dally in my opinion, but that's not essential. I'm just stoked we have basketball again. I feel whole again.

This basically sums it up as far as I can tell. Wouldn't mind a trade for a veteran pass-first PG, but I suppose that's wishful thinking.

I'd like to say Salmons, but not after they traded for him and washed his nuts for a couple of days, I guess that's not likely.

The answer is probably nobody, but if anybody, Cisco.

Look, I know Beno is rather underrated around RealGM, but come on.

Nah, let Daly go. Unless he comes back cheap, either go with the youth or upgrade with Nene/Chandler (who I think the Kings are going to go after hardcore) or just wait for a trade mid-season, see what's available. Definitely re-sign Thornton though.

And just like that, these boards come to life.

People are too eager to just let Dally walk. Remember how long we waited for a def-type player like Dally, and now that he's hear and played well, we don't want to give him a contract. I'd easily give him a 4-years, 8-9 million dollar contract.

I'd rather give Chandler or Nene the same deal, and with the new CBA, that might be overpaying.
