L'ville and Cincy should go to the Big 12 and make it 12. Then they lock up a whole region and get a champ game.

Conference shuffling?

Why is WVU doing the big 12? Seems like a good big 10 school, they're really going to need to travel a lot.

Economics.

I think most WVU fans will regret the move in time. They'll go from top dog in the conference every year to being in the middle of the pack......and traveling to games for supporters will be much harder.....not to mention for all of the other sports.

That makes too much sense.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

If Cincy and L'ville go it makes the WVU move not as bizarre. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of the Big East and how soon the teams actually can get out of the conference.

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story ... conference

The Big East has officially added Boise St., San Diego St., Houston, SMU and UCF.

Am I the only one who thinks this shouldn't be allowed?

So the name will no longer apply....but that has been the trademark of other conferences for some time now

There's still talk that the Big East may lose their AQ status.

even with all these new teams? is it because of the lesser caliber?

who would get it, another at large?

SEC wants the 2 team rule gone. Arkansas agrees.

I would think so.

The Big East will look like this following the departure of West Virginia, Pitt and Syracuse:

Cincinnati
Louisville
Rutgers
UConn
USF
UCF
SMU
Boise St.
San Diego St.
Houston

The conference is turning into the land of misfit football teams, IMHO; schools that have been flashes in the pan on a few different occasions, but can never reach the mountain top. As much as I dislike the BCS system, I don't feel like this conference is deserving of an AQ bid. If Rutgers and UConn are your flagship football programs, then you don't deserve that AQ.

Boise would now be the flagship program, Cinci has been very good recently, UCF and Houston have both been ranked, Louisville appears to be turning the corner and are loaded with talent.

Part of the weakness of the conference is due to the fact that there were only 8 teams. Now that there will be 10 and eventually 12 increases the odds that more than one team has a good year.

You'll have to take away the ACC's AQ status as well.....

They've been on the fence for a while.....and probably would have joined sooner if not for scheduling conflicts
