Guangdong is Aaron's best choose when he determined come to CBA.
Guangdong got 7 times champion in recent 8 years and is the most strengthen team in CBA.
So, Aaron not need to play very hard like others team's foreign aid until the Finals.

Also don't forget that Brooks stock in China rose alot just by being teammates with Yao for 3 years. I'm sure he was able to get a pretty decent contract. Were the financial terms stated?

Aaron's contract revealed as 2 million USD. Plus the play-off and finals, he need to played about 40-47 games. I don't know whether the contract will include additional champion bonus. As I know, the bonus always bigger than the salary. It is very clear that Guangdong will get the champion.

Aaron will versus Stepehen Marbury in this weekend.
Stepehen Marbury is the godfather for the CBA foreign aids especialy who came from NBA.
JR Smith was nearly fired by ZheJiang club and survived after Stepehen Marbury's mediation.
So, it seems there is another fortune for Aaron to meet the godfather at his arrival and get some suggestions from him.

Aaron had arrived several hours ago.

Yao Ming is ShangHai team's boss , Aaron would be good for ShangHai but Yao Ming is the poorest boss in CBA and can not offer the contract.

Yeah he aint got no opt out clause. Was going to post that, but somebody already did.
Oh well, I dont really care. If we can S&T him off I won't be missing him.

Dowdell was a better player for us anyway.

He doesn't have an opt-out but I imagine his team will release him anyways.

Or he'll do his very best to get fired.

I don't like him very much, and I don't think his skills suit our team, but I WANT him to do well. I really want him to make an impact off our bench.

What's the mechanism for teams who have players under contract but not available for this season? Do they get a 1-year exemption to sing someone else. Anyone know?

Sorry JVC, I don't think there's an exemption for that. Brooks will continue to be a RFA (like Childress was in ATL). Hopefully he accepts the QO or S&T him before the 2012 free agency period because he has a cap hold of $6.4mil.

yep, one or the other - QO and trade, or S&T. But I think his days here are going to be few. Just my feeling. Seems ot me like they got him mostly because he was good trade-bait

If they didn't get an opt-out clause in their original contract with the CBA, there's absolutely no impact the NBA can have on that.

Brooks, and other players who have signed overseas without opt-out clauses, will have to play those contracts out before they can re-sign in the NBA - at which point the Suns will still hold Aaron's rights.
