PJ3 debut: 10-14 FG, 7-9 FT, 27 Pts, 8 Rebs, 0 Assists (not good), 1 steal, 1 block

but a very very good one, but I hope he's not playing the 5 though.

27 and 8 with a block & a steal.

This was the best game of his college career to date by far. I'm really enthusiastic about his game. If he can keep this up, he's going to be a top 5 pick and seriously someone we should consider.

I still think he's more of a face-up 4 at the next level. His handle is good for someone his height, but I don't think it's great for a wing. And his quickness advantage against 4's will be diminished on the wing. And his lateral quickness wouldn't be very good against 3's.

He'll probably be able to play spot minutes at the 3, but I believe his most successful position would be at PF

Rivers with some nice moves. He'll be a matador in the NBA, though.

Now we see the aggressive and assertive version of him in scoring wise...his handle I have to see though, but last year first 5-6 games he was a good facilitator, bring the ball up to the court and passes very good, but now there's point guards on the team he doesn't have to do that...otherwise he always have good handle, not flashy like tmac but like hedo (doesn't lose the ball)..., right now he's taking advantage of his length and athleticism, his first step is solid due to his rare speed, but I want to see more of his deceptive moves ...but I can see him trying to post up more this season...

I think he has wing potential, I've seen it last year so idk why people kept saying he's only limited to 4. He'll do really good in transition, that's one of the areas he's good at.

What I don't get is how some portray him as a tweener when he has the height and frame to play the 4 and very good handles for that position. Its almost as if it's seen as a flaw that he may be able to play some at the 3.

Personally, I think he'll eventually be a face up 4 when he gains strength to defend that position. He may start off playing some 3 similar to Garnett until then

just think of him as an Odom without the shooting touch, Odom played 3 before...and ...that's why he's playing 4 now lol. I agree PJ3 can exploit the matchup at 4...he can be good in posting up against the 3's, that's the only advantage.

Like I said again, last year earlier he played the wing role fine just wasn't scoring much, took few mid-range jumpers but the same time he was practically a hedo similar type facilitator. I won't say he should be 3 I just say he's capable. But if he plays the 4, he'll definitely exploit the matchup.

I think Perry can be like a more athletic, better ballhandling/passing version of Rashard Lewis from his SF days in Seattle. He averaged 22.4pts/6.6rebs/2.4asts for them on excellent efficiency (58.7 TS%) back in 2006.

Debbie Downer Here. Praiie View AM is one of the worst teams in the entire nation. No credible scout will even watch the video of him playing against such garbage.

He played aggressively and hit some midrange jumpers. Good signs regardless of the opposition IMO

I agree, it's not what he did, but how he played that was worth noting. Hope to see that hustle maintain through the year.

Pretty much. Still, Jones has to have a good game against a weak team or his draft stock will really suffer.

I do have one thing to say about Prairie View: Any team with a guard named Montreal Scott (from Dallas) really deserves a soft spot in our hearts

Stop looking at who he played against and how he played overall. Dude could have scored 35+ points if he wanted. He scored from all over the floor in a varying amount of ways. Dude is a definite talent and you pair him with a good point guard, they'd be a beast tandem.

James Southerland dominates against these teams and looks like a lotto pick. Who is James Souterland? You would know if he didn't crap his pants at the site of better teams.

These games are good for entertainment, and getting a better understanding of the player. They may not be totally irrelevant, but they are not that relevant either. Those games will come, and that is what scouts will look at. Its hard to adequately gage the level of strengths and weaknesses and how you use them, unless its better opposition.

I'm probably going to regret posting these clips lol but if we got Harrison Barnes then I hope he watches prime Roy cuz I see SOME similarities just Brandon has a lot better handles but something about how they move their bodies or something....I can't place it -- maybe it's just the fundamentals and not being overly explosive:

I'm sure now everyone is going to hang on to this comparison lmao but whatever
