Dalembert for the MLE or Kwame Brown for the Min?

Post#1 » by EscapoTHB » Tue Nov 29, 2011 1:50 pm

Is there really that much of a difference between Dalembert and Kwame Brown? Dalembert is a litttttle bit better. But the price difference between the two of them is huge.

If we got Kwame instead, he'd still be better than anyone we had last year, and we would be able to keep Mike Miller and spend our money filling out the rest of the roster a little easier. Would give us money to maybe go and get a Jamal Crawford for the mini-MLE and get some extra pop off the bench. We'd also be able to go over 74 mil to fill out the roster if we don't use the MLE.

I would say the most we should offer Dalembert is half the MLE. If we could split the MLE between Dalembert and Crawford(neither who is actually worth the full MLE) that would address the center and backup point guard position. Our two main weaknesses. Then you get a guy like Grant Hill at the min as Mike Miller insurance. And maybe VC at the min as well.

I dunno, I feel like we would be better off using our money to build out the entire bench, and not just waste all of it on Dalembert.

The only centers worth blowing up our core for in the market would be Chandler or Nene IMO.

Kwame Brown had a pretty good season. He deserves better than a minimum contract and I'm sure his agent knows it. I could see the Knicks signing him to a 1 year deal worth at least 2 million. They're in the market for a mediocre Center.

Kwame Brown is the only NBA athlete I've ever met. Met him the day he got drafted, at a friend's party. I thought I was shaking hands with a future great....

The dude is a bum. One decent season out of a career of disappointment is not gonna cut it. We can grab Kwame AND Dalambert if Kwame is gonna be had for the min. Dalembert has game to justify the full MLE. I know we'd like to think we can get him cheap, but if he's motivated, he could be more than just someone to swat and rebound. I keep saying it but the game he played against us down here was quite impressive, and not a fluke. PEACE.

Dalembert is 10x as good. Much better rebounder and shot blocker. No comparison

We are looking to upgrade the center position, not add to our collection of misfits. Acquiring Dalembert solidifies our biggest hole, while Kwame always seems to bring as many questions as answers.

If we didn't have Joel, and both he and Kwame were available, I don't know who we would choose. If its Dalembert, its not even a question.

If we somehow got both, our big man rotation will put last years to shame.

If Kwame can be had for the minimum and Dalembert can be had for the MLE, we should get both.

I think both are going to get more though.

I can see us getting Kwame if we strike out on all the top guys (which isn't that remote of a possibility)

If we can't get Dalembert, I wouldn't mind Kwame for a portion of the MLE.

If we get Dalembert, we will have no MLE left...

If the only centers we walk away from FA with is Kwame and/or Curry, I'm gonna be pissed. Then again, I'll start praying Pittman turns into a monster really quick. PEACE.
