More on West-

David West is likely to stay w/ #Hornets or go to #Pacers, based on what's transpired so far #nba

Reports of Indy's interest in David West are very real, but they may not want to spend all their money on him. Landry might be a better fit

I don't mind Landry, i think he's still an upgrade for our team at the 4-spot, but, after days of reading and hearing stories of West, Nene and Millsap, i would be somewhat disappointed if we ended up getting Landry.

More on Landry, per Sam Amick -

Source says Portland, New Orleans, Indiana and Boston have all expressed very real interest in free agent forward Carl Landry.

Atleast noone can blame Larry Bird, David Morway and Kevin Pritchard for not doing their due diligence on players and checking out all of their options. They are doing ALL of their homework it seems.

Who is that? It seems more opinion than anything. I can definitely see Landry if we miss out on West and Nene tho.

For anyone who was interested in getting Greg Oden.... he's still not healthy enough to play and won't be til January, 25 months since he last played a game. Yikes. http://eye-on-basketball.blogs.cbssport ... 4/33606582

we've been hearing all
this talk about our
interest on Nene,
West, etc.

anyone up for getting
J-Smoove?

from Yahoo: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... ncy_113011

Smith still seeking trade from Hawks

Josh Smith hasn’t changed his mind on a future with his hometown Atlanta Hawks: He believes he’s probably run his course with Atlanta. Without an owner committed to making the changes to push this team past its second-round Eastern Conference ceiling, sources said he’d still welcome the team putting him into a trade.

Rival executives say GM Rick Sund has told them everyone is available for deals, although Sund’s most reluctant to move Al Horford. There had been serious discussions between Atlanta and the Minnesota Timberwolves for Smith around the NBA draft, but they never materialized.

he's an exciting, young,
yet seasoned 2-way PF
that may be a good add
to the mix we have.

They would want too much and he isn't the greatest post defender or decision maker. I would like to have him, but not for what Atlanta's asking price.

Apparently, Minnesota turned down a top-5 pick for Smith. Which would be the #2 pick. The most I'd offer is a 1st and Hansbrough, but I have no idea why the Hawks would want that. They'll want Hibbert.

I'm a little worried about the 85% of cap requirement. it could force us to do something too soon.

My wishlist:

Jamal Crawford
Nene
bring back Foster

If these guys get the amnesty ax, then I think we should look at:

Desagana Diop - defensive option to backup Hibbert
Brandon Roy

I don't think he'll play again til next season he might play a few games but might as well just go into next summer as an FA and start over. He's not gonna command big money. 8-)

That is 85% within 2 years isn't it...and 90% within 3?

Combine it with CP3 requesting a trade to NY

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=y ... ade_120111

And I would say the Pacers are frontrunner to land him.
Or they could just team up in Indiana :P

Nice. Paul will be in Indy tomorrow.

Only give out 1 year deals. Next year trade Dahntay and 1st for capspace. Renounce Rush. Trade Collison for a future 1st. Trade Hibbert for a future 1st. Sign Deron Williams and Dwight Howard. Resign Hill. Resign Foster.

Williams/Hill/Stephenson
George/Hill/Stephenson
Granger/George
Hansbrough
Howard/Foster

Trade the future 1sts for a PF. Sign another big with the room exception. Fill out the rest of the roster with vet minimums.

Try stopping my, uhhh... Larry Bird's master plan. 8-)

Next year trade Dahntay and 1st for capspace.

Is this a joke? You really think we should trade a 1st for a mere $3 mill in savings. Reverse that, I'd give up $3 mill for a 1st.

Some rumors making the rounds on the net...

Pacers will trade Roy Hibbert to Denver in a sign-and-trade for Nene. They'll sign David West to a modest contract. Paul George, 2012 1st round pick, will be shipped to GS for Monta Ellis. This because GS is planning on signing Brandon Roy off Amnesty. And with Curry, their 2011 pick (another SG), and Roy...they'd be stocked at the guard position.

Pacers will also reportedly work to try and get Thornton from Sacramento or OJ Mayo from Memphis. Most likely a deal involving Brandon Rush and Darren Collison. They also have their eye on signing Grant Hill and possibly acquiring Vince Carter. Who's contract is up at season's end.

If you can get Williams and Howard, you wouldn't? The cap hold from the 1st would prevent the capspace for two max contracts.

All a part of Larry's master plan.
