Young Lakers

Post#1 » by laduane1 » Fri Dec 2, 2011 7:48 am

With Derrick Caracter, Devin Ebanks, Andrew Goudelock , Ater Majok, Darius Morris. I wonder will last years second round picks and this years second round picks get some playing time. Of course not all will make the team. Would be nice to start to build a team of some younger players at the end of the bench. With Phil finall gone. It is time to start playing some young players. They will not cost Walton or Artest king of money, but they might actually want to perform with out Lukes injuries or Ron's unique play.

If Luke does indeed end up retiring and we waive Metta, then I don't see how Ebanks doesn't get more playing time. Caracter and Goudelock will probably be reduced to garbage minutes, and I don't ever expect to see Ater Majok ever touch the hardwood of the Staples Center. I'm not sure about Morris, he has the highest potential out of all of our young players, but if we end up getting a Baron Davis or somebody else then I him to be pushed to the wayside.

majok will be playing overseas this season as he had no opt out clause w/ the club he signed to.

Im convinced Darius Morris is gonna be a star if he develops chemistry w/ Bynum. I also guarantee he will get Glock plenty of open looks downtown and Ebanks, plenty of lobs/alley. He's the real key to the Lakers/Bynum's success, but the kid really looks like he has the motor.

I was a big fan of caracter until the NO incident, and i still think he has alot of potential. But, i don't think he's our PF of the future. For now we can get away w/ interchanging odom gasol and caracter at the PF spot, but eventually, we're going to have to look towards the future at that spot too.

But for now, i think we're in a position to shock most people who would write us off after Kobe, Gasol, and Odom fade w/ age.

Bynum
????
Ebanks
Morris
Glock

That future PF is gonna play a very important role, and i would hope he compliments Bynum especially, along w/ the rest of our young core.

Looks like Ebanks is pretty much guaranteed a roster spot

I expect Morris and Goudelock to receive contracts too.Caracter I don't think he'll return
