I've said this before, and I'll state my opinion again. If Lopez is back to full strength, I have no problem with moving Gortat for a promising young player, or a borderline all star.

To be brutally honest, I would rather groom and let develop a 23 year old Robin Lopez than a 28 year old Marcin Gortat.

Lopez has yet to be a good rebounder for us, and has never been a consistent 15/10 guy, ever. So I have no idea why anyone would expect him to take The Gortat spot. Lopez may make a good bench player, but if he shows any promise, he makes for a better trade piece now, than he will when that back goes out again. I am not to happy to hear that he looks smooth running on a treadmill. My main question would be, did he get back that loss of eight inch vertical? The dude was getting his dunks blocked, when he was only a foot from the basket, and he is a legit seven feet. That means without even jumping, he should already be close to touching the rim.

I am glad he is better, but if he can play at all, he becomes a good expiring to get maybe another PG. Houston's Flynn for Lopez would work, and if we could get back a second rounder.

O.J. Mayo! He can play both PG and SG and would explode in our system.

DRK quit dreaming we are not trading Gortat for Dragic!

At this point Lopez is an asset for us. He's had injuries and attitude problems but he also had some strong games early on. I say you keep an eye on him this year and then make a decision; If he stays healthy and keeps the cheap fouls to a minimum he may be growing into the center position-if not who cares we still have Gortat and we really werent counting on big Disney anyway after last years regression.

If they think they're losing Battier, they might go for that - I would love it

Trading a healthy 24 yr old 7 foot'r who helped lead the Suns to the WCF 2 years ago is crazy! Don't trade a big for a small, OJ is not someone I want; too small for his position. If Lopez is nice, we could easily start Gortat at the 4 and Lopez at the 5; if not, I don't mind having him play against bench centers!! Lopez has proved he can play against starting bigs; before his injury last year, he balled Gasol and Bynum for 18-15!!

Lopez, Gortat, Frye, and Morris sounds like a big front court that is perfect for our team; 6'11 stretch 4's and 7 ft 5's, when have we ever had that? PLUS they are all under 30. Start Frye and Gortat and bring Lopez and Morris off the bench? Sounds good to me :D .

We need a slasher (young Grant Hill) and we are okay. I am optimistic as long as we have Nash. I rather not tank, it takes too long to get good. I'd rather be mediocre and then get lucky like we did in 04-05 and this time try not blowing up the best team in the league for money

I wouldn't trade Lopez for Flynn...Flynn was a backup on one of the worst teams in the league(Minny.)

Lopez+Pietrus for Mayo? In a heartbeat.

Lopez regressed so much' I think we may be lucky to get a young PG/ SG. I am not saying that is what we should do, just saying what is logical after what EVERYONE saw last year.

I never want to hear the Lopez/Gortat 4/5 situation ever again. We tried it, it sucked, let's move on. We saw all too often Lopez stuck at the three point line, with his back to the basket. Oh my gosh what will he do from three? Will he turn around and throw a Meadowlark Lemon hook shot? Drain a long three? Or just pass it off to the next guard/wing that runs right next to him? Again, IT SUCKED! It killed our offense. And it wasn't like he was stellar on the boards or defensively. Frye was ten times the PF compared to Lopez at the four or five.

Next person to suggest that will get a verbal castigation the likes no one has seen before! :D

Im not talking about Dragic, I'm talking more Derrick Williams. It's possible.

Yes. Lopez is an assett, which is why unless a great deal comes along, we should keep him. However, after Gortat's great season last season, his value is extremely high. Probably, too high. But isnt that better for us trade wise?

If Lopez is all good and ready to go, the sooner we deal Gortat for a young future franchise player like Derrick Williams the better. Lopez could potentially put up the same numbers as Gortat, and we would have a future franchise player.

The Suns havent had a legit big man in forever. Now that Gortat is playing well and producing at the 5 spot you want to ship him because he has value? Gortat seems to be a good teammate as well and he's tough as nails I wouldnt trade him no how no way. The only scenario I could see moving Gortat is if the Suns trade everyone for picks and cap space to reload and then tank. And everyone here knows that is never going to happen.

Gortat is sentenced to life on planet orange!

Knicks gave their 2014 first rounder in the Denver deal (and 2012 & 2013 second rounders), so the only picks we could get from them would be 2014 , 2015 seconds, or a 2016 first rounder. No way the Suns FO could look that far in advance, and the Knicks might be very good at that point, so a 29th or 30th pick means crap.
