Re: J.J. BAREA
I don't understand why they would have any interest in him unless they are planning on letting Thornton walk or have a trade in the works. There are only so many minutes for Evans, Thornton, and Jimmer, and Barea I'm sure will expect playing time, even if he is coming off the bench. I understand the need for more than 3 guards, but Barea?

I'm all for JJ Barea joining the Kings! I like the names of the two guys I've heard we've inquired about. Barea and Chuck Hayes. Neither are obviously stars but they're the glue guys that winning teams need to have. Tyreke and DeMarcus, possibly even Thornton are the guys we need to hope become stars. I'd like guys like Mbah a moute and Tyson Chandler as well.

Chandler would be the perfect center for this team.

Re: J.J. BAREA
I'd LOVE to see Barea in a Kings jersey! I know it would be undersized, but could you play Barea & Jimmer together as a 2nd unit?
I say stockpile away, if you can, and worry about the other stuff later. Better to have more talent than you need than to need more talent. And you never know about injuries.

Re: J.J. BAREA
Unless changes are made in the frontcourt, Hayes is pushing it, Barea however is just way overboard. Where and when does he play!? If Thornton comes back that means either Jimmer NEVER plays, or this team goes painfully small and still, somebody doesn't play much.
I think Petrie is just out there seeing everything that's available.

Ya I don't see how he makes our team any better. We have tons of guards who are shoot first, we don't need anymore unless they are a significant upgrade over what we have--Barea is not.

Sigh... Prime op. to make our team better by doing sensible things to the roster....now we're out there trying to lock up the smallest guys possible. Chuck "K9Jr" Hayes and now JJ "The Leprechaun" Barea....

Re: J.J. BAREA
I would caution people not to overreact to a rumor like this. There are a lot of possibilities beyond Petrie simply wanting to sign Barea.
Petrie may simply be kicking the tires on various free agents. Maybe a spot opens up because you make a trade, in which case you want to have some backup plans. Maybe you get a little info on what other teams are pursuing him and what they might be offering, giving you an insight into what they are thinking in FA and who they might be willing to trade. Maybe you have no interest in the player, but want to assist an agent in trying to drive up the price of a FA of an opposing team.
He may have genuine interest, in which case I wouldn't really agree with him, but it is hard to come to many conclusions when your on the outside looking in.

Lol I actually feel the opposite. I'm pretty bummed out that the two people we are interested in is Hayes and Barea.

Yeah so far the things I'm hearing Petrie being interested in is pretty disappointing.

Well when you consider that guys like Nene, Gasol, and Chandler are each demanding MAX CONTRACTS, does his selective interest really surprise you?

Don't need him. Didn't we already draft a jump shooting guard with defensive issues?

Yeah, he's just doing his job, plus, never discount an agent using a team under the cap like the Kings as leverage to get more money out of the team they're with.

Re: J.J. BAREA
Jimmer isn't CP3.
People need to stop acting like he's gonna start from day one, odds are highly against that. In the meanwhile, we all understand that Tyreke is not ultimately a true point and it doesn't hurt anything to have a vet point who is also a scoring threat so that Jimmer can develop appropriately.
