Predict number of Jazz wins
I predict (unfortunately) that the Jazz, a talented but much too young team, have a record of
28-38 and no playoffs (teams this young dont do well--see the LA Clippers for the past 10 years)
Back to back games with games crammed into the season should help the Jazz bc young guys can comeback better than say an older team like the Lakers, Celtics or Spurs BUT the Jazz team is young and new to playing with each other so we have to expect 1-2 years of growing pains. This team would have been helped by a long pre-season with many games together. The Jazz are going to play alot of jungle ball and very little defense.

Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Re: Predict number of Jazz wins
I'm gonna be optimistic and predict a 34-32 record, no playoffs.
By the way, just throwing this out there...
Team Average Age
Jazz 26.5
Thunder 25.3
Grizzlies 26.0
Blazers 25.4
I don't agree with the assumption that young teams = Clippers in the last 10 years. The Clippers are just a young team that happens to fail because, well, they're the Clippers. There are young teams that do pretty damn well (and we're not that young anyway, with Okur being 32 years old, Bell being 35, and Watson/Kirilenko/Elson raising the average if they come back).

Re: Predict number of Jazz wins
corbin's been at work all summer. he as a full staff and should be fully prepared. if he doesn't finish above 500 i'll be surprised. the jazz players have the talent. i'll say opposite of toledo with 38-28.

Re: Predict number of Jazz wins
34-32 sounds about right but it really depends on if we make any trades.
If we keep Millsap, Jefferson, Memo and Harris then we'll probably .500 or better. If we trade one or more of those guys away we could drop significantly.

That would be a huge improvement over what essentially the same squad did last year. I'm skeptical, but we'll have to wait and see!

I was leaning towards 24-42 as well, but I think Millsap will have an excellent season (and especially an excellent first half of the year) and if they keep him, that could improve their winning percentage a good deal.

Ya but last year was kind of a fluke. Sloan retires mid-season and Deron gets traded a week later. Not really the recipe for success. I think now that things have settled down a bit that they will/should improve from last year.

Re: Predict number of Jazz wins
Reminder, Ty Corbin's coaching record is 8-20. Albiet a lot of those games were close, and the team was in a lot of turmoil. We get a super short training camp, two preseason games, and no summer league.
I'm saying 25 wins.

Re: Predict number of Jazz wins
All you folks looking at last year as any kind of indicator need to rethink things.
Last year was a total waste of a year. I expect this team to be much better. The x factor is going to be the coaching and chemistry. All the parts are there for a nice season.
I'm going to say 40-26 and the playoffs.

Re: Predict number of Jazz wins
I'm feeling the 27-30 range as well. We could do a little better than that or a little worse, but a record in that range seems like the most reasonable expectation. Just for the sake of making a firm prediction, I'll say 29-37.
I do think it's a little unfair to read too much into Ty's record as head coach last year. He started his career under less than ideal circumstances (and that is a massive, massive understatement) and, besides, we were already reeling with Jerry at the helm. The team played a lot better at the end of the year when guys were healthy and gelling and I think we're a lot better than our record during Ty's tenure indicates. I'm not totally sold on Ty by any means, but it's way too early to get a fair read on his abilites as a coach. Let's see what he can do this season.

So they'll either be below .500, at .500 or above .500. Get off the fence!
