Alexis Ajinca

Post#1 » by The_Philosopher » Sun Dec 4, 2011 6:30 pm

Does this guy predominantly suck or is there still hope for him?

I am asking as a Knick fan whose team has been rumored in signing him. You've seen more of him than I have so I figure I'd ask you guys what the deal is with this guy. I know he didn't play much for you and you needed a center so that's a red flag right there.

All he really does is shoot jumpshots, and I didn't even think he was great at that. Trust me, you don't want him.

He should never sign with a contender. But with the knicks sure why not.

I think he can play a little in the right role and sets.

Ajinca is Bargnani minus everything but a jumpshot.

He's a solid jump shooter, will knock down the trey ball for you. Spreads the floor, very lanky- he's an okay shot blocker but could be much better given his length and reach. He's not as bad as people are making him out to be, but he doesn't really stand out, at the same time.

I'd consider Patrick O'bryant a 'serious waste of height'

A very, very poor mans Bargnani... that's pretty ****. He's a serious waste of height.

In his defense, he averaged like 3 times as many blocks per 36 than Bargnani last season.

His rebounding was better too of course.

He has decent athleticism for a 7+ footer. Decent hands. I think he'll stick around, some teams can use his 6 fouls. Jump shot happy. Gets pushed around too easily.

In other words he's nothing like Bargs. He got limited time but he showed some knack for put backs in the offensive end. On defense he was shtty like all the Raptors. He shoots and runs the floor OK. I thought he had potential. He was 10x better than Patrick O'Bryant.
