did everyone forget about the TPE we got for sasha last season?

we still have the 5.5 mil TPE that can be broken up to trade for players.

TPE can only be used on 1 player.

The Sasha TPE is the Lakers wildcard according to Eric Pincus it could be used to sign a nd trade for a player. For example Arron Afflalo can sign with the Nuggets at the price of the TPE and then the Lakers can trade for him obviously this scenario will need to have the Nuggets and Lakers talk and come to some kind of agreement but it is possible.

Oh man, if we sign Delonte West and Aaron Afflalo I will be psyched ... love both of their games ... both tough as nails.

We won't get both Delonte and Afflalo just one of them.

Not true, unless things have changed under the new CBA. You're allowed to take a piece of the TPE and use it on a player and then later use the rest of the TPE.

the first small problem with this first is that afflalo will simply command more than what the lakers can take back using their TPE.

the second huge insurmountable problem with this is that since the lakers are more than 4mil over the lux tax, they are prohibited from doing sign n trade deals.

Oops, you're right, it's created when you trade 1 player.

TPEs rarely get used but given the new CBA this one might.

You would think that if the Lakers wanted Delonte they would have him already, he was a FA last season and PG was just as much of an issue then as it is now.

They signed Blake last season who was a much safer choice. Maybe they're not second guessing that. Regardless, we need depth.

Don't underestimate the hometown advantage. Afflalo played high school ball in LA and college ball at UCLA. Think Matt Barnes.

The exact details of the new CBA aren't out yet but at last word teams $4M over the cap weren't expected to be prohibited from doing sign-and-trades.

That's great and all but Afflalo is a RFA and I doubt Denver lets him go for absolutely nothing. I'd sure love him here though.
