Sounds like Sam is going to be back in the practice facility. I'd say that's a good sign.

@mr_jasonjones
Kings interested in Chuck Hayes. Kings fans, your thoughts?
Just what you guys hoped for. If Sam does stay the frontcourt is loaded.
Cousins/Hickson/JT
Dally/Hayes/Whiteside
Maybe a trade on the way? I wouldn't mind trading Hickson away.

I'd offer Hayes $2-$3 million for 3 years or something. That would be fine with me.
Great to hear about Hayes, 2-3 million total or per year? I actually think he's worth somewhere around the MLE myself. His productions stepped up last year too.

Re: Lockout is over! What's next for the Kings?
Based on this article 2-3 million for hayes looks to be a bit low . If we got Hayes and I dont think we will . But if we did I would think we either have a trade in the works or the Kings feel Sammy will not be a King one way or the other .
Agent says Hayes prefers to remain with Rockets
By JONATHAN FEIGEN, HOUSTON CHRONICLE
While weighing offers from four teams, Rockets center Chuck Hayes' agent said Hayes' preference remains to return to the Rockets, his only team in his six NBA seasons.
Hayes has received offered from the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors, agent Calvin Andrews said. Andrews has also spoken with Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, though not about a specific offer. Hayes turned down an extension offer from the Rockets last June worth roughly $2.5 million per season and Andrews said offers have exceeded that.
"I think we'll probably make the decision without taking visits (beginning Dec. 9)," Andrews said. "I think the Rockets are the priority. I think it comes down to what makes sense economically, what makes sense basketball wise to him. He just wants to make sure he gets the right situation, whether it is quicker or longer. I don't have a package from the Rockets, yet."
Hayes, the shortest starting center in league history at 6-foot-6, averaged 7.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists, all career bests, last season.

Saw this on general board, thought i'd copy it since this is the only thing that worried me when it comes splashing cash on sammy.
Lou Admundson take on dally
I'm so scared and actually do think he will quit on us and stop the effort if/when he signs his deal, I just can't trust the big fella.
What do you guys think? am I over-thinking\reacting here?(it's not from Lou's words but more my feelin about sammy in general, this just gives a little reminder.

Dalembert: "I know Sam real well. We're good friends. He's another guy who is athletic and a good shot blocker. He's probably one of the best shot-blockers in the league when he wants to be. He has a tendency to get kind of disinterested with playing. If he wants to, he can be really good, but sometimes his might just isn't there and he's just kind of out there. If he wants to be, he can be really effective. He played really well against us last year, because it was a contract year. He's no dummy."

Uggh I sure hope we don't sign Hayes. Gosh we have all this money to spend and it sounds like Hayes is on top of our priority list. I'm so tired of the Kings signing these mediocre type player. I'd like to see the Kings in the Paul or Howard discussions, at the very least Gasol or Nene. I know Paul and Howard wont happen but it would be nice to hear us trying. It's like we don't even try and go straight for mid level scrub players. The Rockets can keep their 6'6 center I have no interest at all in Hayes, he's a scrub that had a decent year.

Wherever he lives in the offseason (I'm assuming he doesn't live in Sac, but if he does, that's another good sign). I'm sure players have a million places they could work out. Going to the team facility specifically, to me, shows an effort to connect with the team.

I don't think you're overreacting, and I think it's something we've overlooked too much on this board. If I fully trusted Sam to come in perform like he did last year, I'd easily be fine with throwing 10-11million at him. But I really have my doubts about that.
Still though, you have to pay for size.

What I don't understand is, why didn't any of the signed NBA players get together with their teammates during the lockout, like many of the NFL teams did? Just seemed like they wanted to do their own thing, and now that the lockout is lifted, they won't even show up until camps start. Typical NBA players.

Well, it makes sense because at the very least he's going to want a sign and trade. I don't know how it would look if Sam rolled up into the Heat training facility to work out, hahaha.

At least we know what Boogie's been doing since the lockout, working his *** off.

Great to hear about Marcus, just hope Afflalo distracts the other GMs and the Kings get him back on a nice Peja like deal.
