Maybe he'll be Derozan-esque. Another athletic guy with questionable shooting. Scored 17 ppg last year. Shumpert is more of a 1/2 than a 2/3, but if I'm not mistaken he's probably stronger than Derozan and possibly has a better outside shot, while being as good an athlete.

I can't wait to hear his name announced for the first time at Madison Square Garden. I don't think any rookie in my history has ever receieved a rookie 1st ovation on Christmas. I just hope he holds it together and doesn't break his neck. lol

I'd be very happy with that. I consider Derozan to be one of the best young talents in the game. All-Star potential for sure. But Derozan is really skilled. His jumper was not his strong suit but he has a lot of other game besides his jumper. If Shumpert is as good as Derozan, we'll be in great shape.

Derozan has a great mid-range game...he just can't shoot 3s for sh*t (at least, last year he couldn't). They are two completely different players IMO...only similarities: not great shooters coming into the NBA (although w/Shumpert I think part of the reason he had a low FG% was due to him being the only player on his team who could create a shot & being the best player on bad teams -- and thus was forced to take some poor shots); the other similarity is the athleticism.

I really see very little in common w/respect to playing styles...very very little.

Derozan has a great mid-range shot. Shumpert has more range, but he still needs work on his shot. Also Derozan is probably a notch higher athletically than Shumpert. Different styles of game as well.

Derozan has really improved his game each season in the NBA. I fully expect him to get even better this season as well. I would love if Shumpert showed the same type of progress.

I can't wait to see him get his first minutes of action, and solidify his spot in the rotation. He has a crazy type of hunger in his eyes. Pfft, and some were thinking of bringing Nate back to burn up this kid's minutes.

Sick Video. COuld you imagine if thats how the league was instead of all these big market arenas? This lockout could have produced some pretty entertaining games. Imagine a full 5 on 5 or NBA superstars going hard. Or a tournement of NBA players. 5 player teams.

Since camp is starting and the rookies have arrived just when this thread is about to hit 100 pages I think it's an omen....
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Omens don't necessarily need to be good or bad. In this case....
